My son, forget not my law; but let thine heart keep my commandments:

Mon fils, n' oublie pas mon enseignement, et que ton coeur garde mes préceptes,

For length of days, and long life, and peace, shall they add to thee.

Let not mercy and truth forsake thee: bind them about thy neck; write them upon the table of thine heart:

Que piété et fidélité ne te quittent! Fixe-les à ton cou, inscris-les sur la tablette de ton coeur.

So shalt thou find favour and good understanding in the sight of God and man.

Ka dia hahazo fitia sy fahalalana tsara Eo anatrehan' Andriamanitra sy ny olona ianao.

Dia hahita fitia sy hanana ny fahendrena marina hianao, eo imason' Andriamanitra sy ny olombelona.

Tu trouveras ainsi faveur et réussite aux regards de Dieu et des hommes.

Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.

Matokia an' i Jehovah amin' ny fonao rehetra, Fa aza miankina amin' ny fahalalanao;

Matokia an' ny Tompo amin' ny fonao rehetra, fa aza miankina amin' izay sainao ihany.

Repose-toi sur Yahvé de tout ton coeur, ne t' appuie pas sur ton propre entendement;

In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.

Maneke Azy amin' ny alehanao rehetra, Fa Izy handamina ny lalanao,

Mihevera azy amin' ny lalanao rehetra, dia hanarina ny sakeli-dalanao izy.

en toutes tes démarches, reconnais-le et il aplanira tes sentiers.

Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the Lord, and depart from evil.

Ne te figure pas être sage, crains Yahvé et te détourne du mal :

It shall be health to thy navel, and marrow to thy bones.

Fahasalamana ho an' ny vatanao izany, ary famelombelomana ho an' ny taolanao.

cela sera salutaire à ton corps et rafraîchissant pour tes os.

Honour the Lord with thy substance, and with the firstfruits of all thine increase:

Mankalazà an' i Jehovah amin' ny fanananao Sy amin' izay voaloham-bokatrao rehetra;

Manomeza voninahitra an' Andriamanitra amin' ny fanananao, sy amin' izay voaloham-bokatrao rehetra.

Honore Yahvé de tes biens et des prémices de tout ton revenu;

So shall thy barns be filled with plenty, and thy presses shall burst out with new wine.

Dia ho feno hipokipoka ny fitoeram-bokatrao, ary hihoatra ny fandomana azy ny divainao vaovao.

alors tes greniers regorgeront de blé et tes cuves déborderont de vin nouveau.

My son, despise not the chastening of the Lord; neither be weary of his correction:

Anaka, aza manamavo ny famaizan' i Jehovah, Ary aza tofoka amin' ny fananarany;

Anaka, aza manamavo ny fananaran' ny Tompo, ary aza mankahala ny famaizana ataony.

Ne méprise pas, mon fils, la correction de Yahvé, et ne prends pas mal sa réprimande,

Oha / Oh 3:12

For whom the Lord loveth he correcteth; even as a father the son in whom he delighteth.

Fa izay tian' i Jehovah no anariny, Dia tahaka ny ataon' ny ray amin' ny zanaka tiany.

Fa izay tian' ny Tompo no faiziny, toy ny ataon' ny ray amin' ny zanaka malalany.

car Yahvé reprend celui qu' il aime, comme un père le fils qu' il chérit.

Happy is the man that findeth wisdom, and the man that getteth understanding.

Sambatra izay olona mahita fahendrena Sy izay olona mahazo fahalalana.

Sambatra ny olona nahita ny fahendrena, sy izay olona nahazo ny fahalalana.

Heureux l' homme qui a trouvé la sagesse, l' homme qui acquiert l' intelligence!

For the merchandise of it is better than the merchandise of silver, and the gain thereof than fine gold.

She is more precious than rubies: and all the things thou canst desire are not to be compared unto her.

Length of days is in her right hand; and in her left hand riches and honour.

Dans sa droite : longueur des jours! Dans sa gauche : richesse et honneur!

Her ways are ways of pleasantness, and all her paths are peace.

Làlana mahafinaritra ny lalany, Ary fiadanana ny alehany rehetra.

Lala-mahafinaritra ny lalany, fiadanana avokoa ny sakeli-dalany rehetra.

Ses chemins sont chemins de délices, tous ses sentiers, de bonheur!

She is a tree of life to them that lay hold upon her: and happy is every one that retaineth her.

Hazon' aina ho an' izay rehetra mifikitra aminy izy; Ary izay rehetra mitana azy no hatao hoe sambatra.

Hazon' aina izy ho an' izay mambabo azy, ary sambatra izay mifikitra aminy.

C' est un arbre de vie pour qui la saisit, et qui la tient devient heureux.

The Lord by wisdom hath founded the earth; by understanding hath he established the heavens.

Yahvé, par la sagesse, a fondé la terre, il a établi les cieux par l' intelligence.

By his knowledge the depths are broken up, and the clouds drop down the dew.

Ny fahalalany no entiny mampiboiboika ny rano any amin' ny lalina Sy ampitetevany ando avy amin' ny rahona.

Fahaizany no nivakian' ny hantsana, sy ampitetevan' ny rahona ny ando.

Par sa science furent creusés les abîmes, et les nues distillent la rosée.

My son, let not them depart from thine eyes: keep sound wisdom and discretion:

Anaka, aoka tsy hiala amin' ny masonao izany; Raketo ny tena fahendrena sy ny fisainana mazava,

Anaka, aoka tsy hiala eo imasonao fa tano ny fahendrena amam-pisainana;

Mon fils, sans les quitter des yeux, observe le conseil et la prudence;

So shall they be life unto thy soul, and grace to thy neck.

Ka dia ho ain' ny fanahinao izany Ary ho firavaky ny vozonao,

fa aina ho an' ny fanahinao izany: ary haingo ho an' ny vozonao.

ils seront vie pour ton âme et grâce pour ton cou.

Then shalt thou walk in thy way safely, and thy foot shall not stumble.

Dia handroso aman-toky ianao, Ka tsy ho tafintohina ny tongotrao.

Dia hizo-dalana aman-toky hianao; ary tsy ho tafintohina ny tongotrao.

Tu iras ton chemin en sécurité, ton pied n' achoppera pas.

When thou liest down, thou shalt not be afraid: yea, thou shalt lie down, and thy sleep shall be sweet.

Tsy hatahotra ianao, raha mandry; Eny, handry ianao, ary ho mamy ny torimasonao.

Mandry hianao tsy hanan-tahotra, tafandry indray ho mamy torimaso.

Si tu te couches, tu seras sans frayeur, une fois couché, ton sommeil sera doux.

Be not afraid of sudden fear, neither of the desolation of the wicked, when it cometh.

Aza manahy ny tahotra avy tampoka, Na ny rivo-doza mamely ny ratsy fanahy, raha avy izany;

Tsy hisy hatahoranao na ny fampitahorana tonga tampoka, na ny famelezana avy amin' ny ratsy fanahy.

Ne redoute ni terreur soudaine ni attaque qui vienne des méchants,

For the Lord shall be thy confidence, and shall keep thy foot from being taken.

Fa Jehovah no ho tokinao Ka hiambina ny tongotrao tsy ho voafandrika.

Satria Iaveh no ho tokinao; ary hiaro ny tongotrao amin' ny fandrika rehetra izy.

car Yahvé sera ton assurance, il préservera tes pas du piège.

Withhold not good from them to whom it is due, when it is in the power of thine hand to do it.

Aza mamihina ny soa amin' izay tokony homena azy, Raha azon' ny tananao atao ihany;

Aza manda ny hanao soa amin' izay tokony hanaovana izany, raha mbola azonao atao koa ny manao izany aminy.

Ne refuse pas un bienfait à qui y a droit quand il est en ton pouvoir de le faire.

Oha / Oh 3:28

Say not unto thy neighbour, Go, and come again, and to morrow I will give; when thou hast it by thee.

Aza manao amin' ny namanao hoe: Mandehana, ka avia indray, fa rahampitso no homeko; Kanefa manana ihany ianao.

Aza manao amin' ny namanao hoe: Mandehana ka miverena; rahampitso aho manome, raha azonao atao ny manome eo no ho eo.

Ne dis pas à ton prochain : " Va-t' en! repasse! demain je te donnerai! " quand la chose est en ton pouvoir.

Devise not evil against thy neighbour, seeing he dwelleth securely by thee.

Aza mamorona sain-dratsy ho enti-mamely ny namanao, Saingy mitoetra matoky eo aminao izy.

Aza misaina hanisy ratsy ny namanao, rahefa mitoetra mibonaika eo anilanao izy.

Ne machine pas le mal contre ton prochain, alors qu' il demeure en confiance avec toi.

Strive not with a man without cause, if he have done thee no harm.

Aza miady amin' olona foana, Raha tsy mbola nanisy ratsy anao izy.

Aza mifanditra foana aman' olona, raha tsy nahavita ratsy taminao izy.

Ne te querelle pas sans motif avec un homme, s' il ne t' a fait aucun mal.

Envy thou not the oppressor, and choose none of his ways.

Aza mialona ny olon-dozabe, Na mifidy izay lalany akory,

Aza mialona izay olona mpanao an-keriny, na mifidy izay lalana ombany kely akory;

N' envie pas l' homme violent, ne choisis jamais ses chemins,

For the froward is abomination to the Lord: but his secret is with the righteous.

Satria fahavetavetana eo imason' i Jehovah ny maniasia, Fa ao amin' ny marina kosa ny fisakaizany.

Satria halan' ny Tompo ny olon-dratsy fanahy, fa izay mahitsy fo no hifankazarany indrindra.

car les pervers sont l' abomination de Yahvé, lui qui fait des hommes droits ses familiers.

The curse of the Lord is in the house of the wicked: but he blesseth the habitation of the just.

Ny ozon' i Jehovah dia ao an-tranon' ny ratsy fanahy; Fa ny fonenan' ny marina dia tahìny kosa.

Ny ozon' ny Tompo dia ao an-tranon' ny ratsy fanahy; fa ny fonenan' ny marina kosa omeny tsodrano.

Malédiction de Yahvé sur la maison du méchant! mais il bénit la demeure des justes.

Surely he scorneth the scorners: but he giveth grace unto the lowly.

Na dia tsiratsirainy aza ny mpaniratsira, Dia omeny fahasoavana kosa ny mpandefitra.

Mananihany izay mpananihany izy; ary manome fahasoavana izay manetry tena.

Il raille les railleurs, mais aux pauvres il donne sa faveur.

The wise shall inherit glory: but shame shall be the promotion of fools.

Ny hendry handova voninahitra; Fa henatra kosa no ho anjaran' ny adala.

Anjaran' ny hendry ny voninahitra; fa ny adala kosa, fahafaham-baraka no anjarany.

La gloire est la part des sages, mais les sots héritent le mépris.
