Then Jacob went on his journey, and came into the land of the people of the east.

And he looked, and behold a well in the field, and, lo, there were three flocks of sheep lying by it; for out of that well they watered the flocks: and a great stone was upon the well' s mouth.

Et voici qu' il vit un puits dans la campagne, près duquel étaient couchés trois troupeaux de petit bétail : c'était à ce puits qu' on abreuvait les troupeaux, mais la pierre qui en fermait l' ouverture était grande.

And thither were all the flocks gathered: and they rolled the stone from the well' s mouth, and watered the sheep, and put the stone again upon the well' s mouth in his place.

Quand tous les troupeaux étaient rassemblés là, on roulait la pierre de sur la bouche du puits, on abreuvait le bétail, puis on remettait la pierre en place sur la bouche du puits.

And Jacob said unto them, My brethren, whence be ye? And they said, Of Haran are we.

Ary hoy Jakoba tamin' ny olona: Ry rahalahiko, avy aiza moa ianareo? Ary hoy ireo: Avy any Harana izahay.

Jacob demanda aux bergers : Mes frères, d' où êtes-vous ? et ils répondirent : Nous sommes de Harân.

And he said unto them, Know ye Laban the son of Nahor? And they said, We know him.

Ary hoy izy taminy: Moa mba fantatrareo va Labana, zanakalahin' i Nahora? Dia hoy izy: Fantatray ihany.

Dia hoy izy taminy: Mba fantatrareo va Labana zanak' i Nakora? Ary hoy ny navaliny: Fantatray izy.

Il leur dit : Connaissez-vous Laban, fils de Nahor ? - Nous le connaissons, répondirent-ils.

Gen / Jen 29:6

And he said unto them, Is he well? And they said, He is well: and, behold, Rachel his daughter cometh with the sheep.

Ary hoy izy taminy: Tsara ihany va izy? Dia hoy izy: Tsara ihany izy; ary, indro, tamy Rahely zananivavy mitondra ny ondry aman' osy.

Il leur demanda : Va-t-il bien ? Ils répondirent : Il va bien, et voici justement sa fille Rachel qui vient avec le troupeau.

And he said, Lo, it is yet high day, neither is it time that the cattle should be gathered together: water ye the sheep, and go and feed them.

Jacob dit : Il fait encore grand jour, ce n' est pas le moment de rentrer le bétail. Abreuvez les bêtes et retournez au pâturage.

And they said, We cannot, until all the flocks be gathered together, and till they roll the stone from the well' s mouth; then we water the sheep.

Mais il répondirent : Nous ne pouvons le faire avant que soient rassemblés tous les troupeaux et qu' on roule la pierre de sur la bouche du puits; alors nous abreuverons les bêtes.

And while he yet spake with them, Rachel came with her father' s sheep; for she kept them.

Raha mbola niteny taminy izy; dia, indro, tamy Rahely nitondra ny ondry aman' osin-drainy; fa mpiandry ondry izy.

Il conversait encore avec eux lorsque Rachel arriva avec le troupeau de son père, car elle était bergère.

And it came to pass, when Jacob saw Rachel the daughter of Laban his mother' s brother, and the sheep of Laban his mother' s brother, that Jacob went near, and rolled the stone from the well' s mouth, and watered the flock of Laban his mother' s brother.

Dès que Jacob eut vu Rachel, la fille de son oncle Laban, et le troupeau de son oncle Laban, il s' approcha, roula la pierre de sur la bouche du puits et abreuva le bétail de son oncle Laban.

And Jacob kissed Rachel, and lifted up his voice, and wept.

And Jacob told Rachel that he was her father' s brother, and that he was Rebekah' s son: and she ran and told her father.

And it came to pass, when Laban heard the tidings of Jacob his sister' s son, that he ran to meet him, and embraced him, and kissed him, and brought him to his house. And he told Laban all these things.

Dès qu' il entendit qu' il s' agissait de Jacob, le fils de sa soeur, Laban courut à sa rencontre, il le serra dans ses bras, le couvrit de baisers et le conduisit dans sa maison. Et Jacob lui raconta toute cette histoire.

And Laban said to him, Surely thou art my bone and my flesh. And he abode with him the space of a month.

And Laban said unto Jacob, Because thou art my brother, shouldest thou therefore serve me for nought? tell me, what shall thy wages be?

Gen / Jen 29:16

And Laban had two daughters: the name of the elder was Leah, and the name of the younger was Rachel.

Ary Labana nanan-janaka roa vavy: Lea no anaran' ny zokiny, ary Rahely no anaran' ny zandriny.

Ary nanan-janaka roa vavy Labana; ny zokiny natao hoe Lià, ary ny zandriny natao hoe Rasela.

Or Laban avait deux filles : l' aînée s' appelait Léa, et la cadette, Rachel.

Gen / Jen 29:17

Leah was tender eyed; but Rachel was beautiful and well favoured.

And Jacob loved Rachel; and said, I will serve thee seven years for Rachel thy younger daughter.

And Laban said, It is better that I give her to thee, than that I should give her to another man: abide with me.

Laban dit : Mieux vaut la donner à toi qu'à un étranger; reste chez moi.

Gen / Jen 29:20

And Jacob served seven years for Rachel; and they seemed unto him but a few days, for the love he had to her.

And Jacob said unto Laban, Give me my wife, for my days are fulfilled, that I may go in unto her.

Ary hoy Jakoba tamin' i Labana: Aiza ny vadiko, mba hanambadiako azy? fa efa tapitra ny fetr' androko.

Puis Jacob dit à Laban : Accorde-moi ma femme car mon temps est accompli, et que j' aille vers elle !

Gen / Jen 29:22

And Laban gathered together all the men of the place, and made a feast.

Ary nampamory ny tompon-tany rehetra Labana ka nanao fanasana.

Dia novorin' i Labana ny olona rehetra tamin' io toerana io, ka nanao fanasana izy.

Laban réunit tous les gens du lieu et donna un banquet.

And it came to pass in the evening, that he took Leah his daughter, and brought her to him; and he went in unto her.

Kanjo nony hariva dia naka an' i Lea zananivavy izy ka nitondra azy ho any amin' i Jakoba; dia nanambady azy Jakoba.

Nony hariva ny andro, dia Lià, zanany vavy, no nalainy, nentiny tao amin' i Jakoba, ka niraisan' i Jakoba.

Mais voici qu' au soir il prit sa fille Léa et la conduisit à Jacob; et celui-ci s' unit à elle ! -

And Laban gave unto his daughter Leah Zilpah his maid for an handmaid.

Ary nomen' i Labana an' i Lea zananivavy Zilpa ankizivaviny hanompo azy.

Ary Zelfa ankizivaviny natolony hanompo an' i Lià zanany vavy.

Laban donna sa servante Zilpa comme servante à sa fille Léa. -

Gen / Jen 29:25

And it came to pass, that in the morning, behold, it was Leah: and he said to Laban, What is this thou hast done unto me? did not I serve with thee for Rachel? wherefore then hast thou beguiled me?

Ary nony efa maraina ny andro, indro fa Lea izy; dia hoy Jakoba tamin' i Labana: Ahoana izao nataonao tamiko izao? Moa tsy Rahely va no nanompoako anao? Ka nahoana no nofitahinao aho?

Nony tonga ny maraina, indro fa Lià io, ka hoy Jakoba tamin' i Labana: Inona ity nataonao tamiko? Moa tsy ny hahazoako an-dRasela va no nanompoako teto aminao? Nahoana no dia nofitahinao aho?

Le matin arriva, et voilà que c'était Léa ! Jacob dit à Laban : Que m' as-tu fait là ? N' est-ce pas pour Rachel que j' ai servi chez toi ? Pourquoi m' as-tu trompé ?

Gen / Jen 29:26

And Laban said, It must not be so done in our country, to give the younger before the firstborn.

Dia hoy Labana: Tsy fanao atý amin' ny taninay ny mamoaka ny zandriny alohan' ny zokiny.

Ary hoy no navalin' i Labana: Tsy fanao aty ny mamoaka ny zandriny alohan' ny zokiny.

Laban répondit : Ce n' est pas l' usage dans notre contrée de marier la plus jeune avant l' aînée.

Gen / Jen 29:27

Fulfil her week, and we will give thee this also for the service which thou shalt serve with me yet seven other years.

Tanteraho ny herinandron' ity anankiray ity, dia homenay anao koa ny anankiray noho ny fanompoana izay mbola hanompoanao ahy fito taona indray.

Ka tanteraho ny herinandron' ity anankiray ity, fa homenay anao koa ny anankiray noho ny fanompoana izay mbola hataonao aty amiko mandritra ny fito taona hafa.

Mais achève cette semaine de noces et je te donnerai aussi l' autre comme prix du service que tu feras chez moi pendant encore sept autres années.

And Jacob did so, and fulfilled her week: and he gave him Rachel his daughter to wife also.

And Laban gave to Rachel his daughter Bilhah his handmaid to be her maid.

Ary nomen' i Labana an-dRahely zananivavy kosa Bila ankizivaviny hanompo azy.

Ary Balà ankizivaviny natolony hanompo an-dRasela zanany vavy.

Laban donna sa servante Bilha comme servante à sa fille Rachel. -

Gen / Jen 29:30

And he went in also unto Rachel, and he loved also Rachel more than Leah, and served with him yet seven other years.

Dia novadin' i Jakoba koa Rahely; ary izy no tiany mihoatra noho Lea; dia nanompo an' i Labana fito taona indray izy.

Jacob s' unit aussi à Rachel et il aima Rachel plus que Léa; il servit chez son oncle encore sept autres années.

And when the Lord saw that Leah was hated, he opened her womb: but Rachel was barren.

Ary rehefa hitan' i Jehovah fa nankahalaina Lea, dia nampanan' anaka azy Izy; fa momba kosa Rahely.

Hitan' ny Tompo fa nankahalaina Lià, ka nampanana anaka azy izy, fa Rasela kosa momba.

Yahvé vit que Léa n'était pas aimée et il la rendit féconde, tandis que Rachel demeurait stérile.

Gen / Jen 29:32

And Leah conceived, and bare a son, and she called his name Reuben: for she said, Surely the Lord hath looked upon my affliction; now therefore my husband will love me.

Dia nanan' anaka Lea ka niteraka zazalahy, ary ny anarany dia nataony hoe Robena; fa hoy izy: Efa nitsinjo ny fahoriako Jehovah, fa ankehitriny dia ho tian' ny vadiko aho.

Dia nanana anaka Lià, ka tera-dahy, nomeny anarana hoe Robena, fa hoy izy: Nitsinjo ny fahoriako Iaveh ka ho tian' ny vadiko aho ankehitriny.

Léa conçut et elle enfanta un fils qu' elle appela Ruben, car, dit-elle, Yahvé a vu ma détresse; maintenant mon mari m' aimera .

Gen / Jen 29:33

And she conceived again, and bare a son; and said, Because the Lord hath heard I was hated, he hath therefore given me this son also: and she called his name Simeon.

Dia nanan' anaka indray izy ka niteraka zazalahy; ary hoy izy: Satria ren' i Jehovah fa efa nankalahaina aho, dia nomeny ahy koa ity; dia nataony hoe Simeona ny anarany.

Nanana anaka indray izy dia tera-dahy, ka nanao hoe: Ren' ny Tompo fa nankahalaina aho, ka nomeny an' ity koa, dia nataony hoe Simeona ny anarany.

Elle conçut encore et elle enfanta un fils; elle dit : Yahvé a entendu que je n'étais pas aimée et il m' a aussi donné celui-ci; et elle l' appela Siméon.

Gen / Jen 29:34

And she conceived again, and bare a son; and said, Now this time will my husband be joined unto me, because I have born him three sons: therefore was his name called Levi.

Dia nanan' anaka indray izy ka niteraka zazalahy; ary hoy izy: Ankehitriny izao dia hikambana amiko ny vadiko, fa efa niteraka zazalahy telo ho azy aho; izany no nanaovana ny anarany hoe Levy.

Nanana anaka indray koa izy, dia tera-dahy, ka nanao hoe: Izao vao hiraiki-po amiko tokoa ny vadiko, fa niteraka telo mirahalahy ho azy aho. Izany no nanaovany ny anaran' io hoe: Levì.

Elle conçut encore et elle enfanta un fils; elle dit : Cette fois, mon mari s' attachera à moi, car je lui ai donné trois fils, et elle l' appela Lévi.

Gen / Jen 29:35

And she conceived again, and bare a son: and she said, Now will I praise the Lord: therefore she called his name Judah; and left bearing.

Dia nanan' anaka indray izy ka niteraka zazalahy; ary hoy izy: Ankehitriny dia hidera an' i Jehovah aho; izany no nanaovany ny anarany hoe Joda; dia nitsaha-jaza izy.

Nanana anaka indray koa izy, dia tera-dahy ka nanao hoe: Ankehitriny hidera an' ny Tompo aho. Izany no nanaovany ny anaran' io hoe Jodà. Dia nitsaha-jaza izy.

Elle conçut encore et elle enfanta un fils; elle dit : Cette fois, je rendrai gloire à Yahvé; c' est pourquoi elle l' appela Juda. Puis elle cessa d' avoir des enfants.
