Jer / Jr 4:1

If thou wilt return, O Israel, saith the Lord, return unto me: and if thou wilt put away thine abominations out of my sight, then shalt thou not remove.

Si tu reviens, Israël, oracle de Yahvé, si tu reviens à moi, si tu ôtes de devant moi tes Horreurs, si tu ne vagabondes plus,

Jer / Jr 4:2

And thou shalt swear, The Lord liveth, in truth, in judgment, and in righteousness; and the nations shall bless themselves in him, and in him shall they glory.

si tu jures par Yahvé vivant, en vérité, droiture et justice, alors les nations se béniront en lui, en lui elles se glorifieront.

For thus saith the Lord to the men of Judah and Jerusalem, Break up your fallow ground, and sow not among thorns.

Car ainsi parle Yahvé aux gens de Juda et à Jérusalem Défrichez pour vous ce qui est en friche, ne semez rien parmi les épines.

Circumcise yourselves to the Lord, and take away the foreskins of your heart, ye men of Judah and inhabitants of Jerusalem: lest my fury come forth like fire, and burn that none can quench it, because of the evil of your doings.

Miforà ho an' i Jehovah ianareo, eny, forao ny fonareo, ry Joda sy ry mponina any Jerosalema! Fandrao hiseho toy ny afo ny fahatezerako noho ny faharatsian' ny ataonareo ka hirehitra, sady tsy hisy hamono azy.

Miforà ho an' ny Tompo hianareo, ary ny fonareo no forao, ry olona ao Jodà, sy ry mponina ao Jerosalema, fandrao hipoaka hoatra ny afo ny fahatezerako, ka handoro, ary tsy hisy olona hamono azy, noho ny haratsian' ny ataonareo.

Circoncisez-vous pour Yahvé, ôtez le prépuce de votre coeur, gens de Juda et habitants de Jérusalem, sinon ma colère jaillira comme un feu, elle brûlera sans personne pour éteindre, à cause de la méchanceté de vos actions.

Jer / Jr 4:5

Declare ye in Judah, and publish in Jerusalem; and say, Blow ye the trumpet in the land: cry, gather together, and say, Assemble yourselves, and let us go into the defenced cities.

Ambaraonareo ao amin' ny Joda, ary torio ao Jerosalema, ka ataovy hoe: Tsofy ao amin' ny tany ny anjomara; Miantsoantsoa mafy, ka ataovy hoe: Mivoria ianareo, ka andeha isika hiditra amin' ny tanàna mimanda.

Torio any Jodà, ary ambarao any Jerosalema, lazao, mitsofa anjomara ao amin' ny tany, ary manaova antso avo, ka lazao hoe: Mivoria hianareo, ary andao hiditra amin' ny tanàna mimanda!

Publiez-le dans Juda, annoncez-le dans Jérusalem, dites-le! Sonnez du cor dans le pays, criez à pleine voix et dites Rassemblement! Gagnons les villes fortifiées!

Jer / Jr 4:6

Set up the standard toward Zion: retire, stay not: for I will bring evil from the north, and a great destruction.

Dressez un signal à Sion! Fuyez! Pas d' arrêt! Car c' est un malheur que j' amène du Nord, un immense désastre.

The lion is come up from his thicket, and the destroyer of the Gentiles is on his way; he is gone forth from his place to make thy land desolate; and thy cities shall be laid waste, without an inhabitant.

Le lion est monté de son fourré, le destructeur des nations s' est mis en marche, il est sorti de sa demeure pour transformer ton pays en solitude; tes villes seront détruites et dépeuplées.

For this gird you with sackcloth, lament and howl: for the fierce anger of the Lord is not turned back from us.

Ary noho izany dia misikìna lamba fisaonana ianareo, ka mitomania sy midradradradrà; Fa ny firehetan' ny fahatezeran' i Jehovah tsy afaka amintsika.

Noho izany misikìna lamba malailay hianareo; mitomania sy midradradradra; fa ny firehitry ny hatezeran' ny Tompo, tsy nihodivitra antsika.

Aussi, revêtez-vous de sacs, lamentez-vous, poussez des hurlements, car elle ne s' est pas écartée de nous, l' ardente colère de Yahvé.

Jer / Jr 4:9

And it shall come to pass at that day, saith the Lord, that the heart of the king shall perish, and the heart of the princes; and the priests shall be astonished, and the prophets shall wonder.

Then said I, Ah, Lord GOD! surely thou hast greatly deceived this people and Jerusalem, saying, Ye shall have peace; whereas the sword reacheth unto the soul.

Et je dis : "Ah! Seigneur Yahvé, tu as vraiment trompé ce peuple et Jérusalem quand tu disais : Vous aurez la paix alors que l'épée nous a frappés à mort!"

At that time shall it be said to this people and to Jerusalem, A dry wind of the high places in the wilderness toward the daughter of my people, not to fan, nor to cleanse,

Amin' izany andro izany, dia hilazana ity firenena ity sy Jerosalema hatao hoe: Misy rivo-mahamay avy any amin' ny havoana any an' efitra, eo amin' ny làlana mankany amin' ny zanakavavin' ny vahoakako, ka tsy hikororohana na hanadiovana;

En ce temps-là on dira à ce peuple et à Jérusalem le vent brûlant des hauteurs, au désert, arrive sur la fille de mon peuple. Ce n' est ni pour vanner ni pour épurer!

Even a full wind from those places shall come unto me: now also will I give sentence against them.

Behold, he shall come up as clouds, and his chariots shall be as a whirlwind: his horses are swifter than eagles. Woe unto us! for we are spoiled.

Voici qu' il s' avance comme les nuées, ses chars sont comme l' ouragan, ses chevaux vont plus vite que des aigles. Malheur à nous! Nous sommes perdus!

O Jerusalem, wash thine heart from wickedness, that thou mayest be saved. How long shall thy vain thoughts lodge within thee?

Ry Jerosalema, sasao ny fonao ho afaka amin' ny ratsy, mba hovonjena ianao! Mandra-pahoviana no hitoeran' ny hevi-dratsinao ao am-ponao?

Ry Jerosalema ô, diovy ho afaka amin' ny ratsy ny fonao, mba hovonjena hianao; mandra-pahoviana no hitoeran' ny hevi-dratsinao ao am-ponao?

Purifie ton coeur du mal, Jérusalem, afin d'être sauvée. Jusques à quand abriteras-tu en ton sein tes coupables pensées?

For a voice declareth from Dan, and publisheth affliction from mount Ephraim.

Make ye mention to the nations; behold, publish against Jerusalem, that watchers come from a far country, and give out their voice against the cities of Judah.

Lazaonareo amin' ny firenena, torio amin' i Jerosalema hoe: Misy mpanao fahirano avy any an-tany lavitra ka manakora hamely ny tanànan' ny Joda.

Ampandreneso ny firenena izany; ambarao azy ireo ny lozan' i Jerosalema. Misy mpanao fahirano avy any an-tany lavitra, manao akoralava hamely ny tanànan' i Jodà.

Faites savoir ceci aux nations, proclamez-le contre Jérusalem les ennemis arrivent d' un lointain pays et poussent leur cri contre les villes de Juda;

As keepers of a field, are they against her round about; because she hath been rebellious against me, saith the Lord.

Manodidina azy ireo toy ny fanaon' ny mpiandry saha, fa efa niodina tamiko izy, hoy Jehovah.

Hoatra ny mpiandry saha izy ireo manodidina an' i Jerosalema, satria niodina tamiko izy, - teny marin' ny Tompo.

comme les gardiens d' un champ, ils l' entourent, car elle s' est révoltée contre moi, oracle de Yahvé.

Thy way and thy doings have procured these things unto thee; this is thy wickedness, because it is bitter, because it reacheth unto thine heart.

Ny alehanao sy ny asanao no nahatonga izany taminao; Izany no faharatsianao, eny, mangidy izany sady mihatra amin' ny ainao.

Izany no tamby, valin' ny fitondran-tena aman' asa ratsinao; izany no vokatry ny haratsiam-panahinao, ka mangidy! Eny, mihatra amin' ny fo izany!

Ta conduite et tes actions t' ont valu cela Voilà ton malheur, comme il est amer! comme il te frappe au coeur!

My bowels, my bowels! I am pained at my very heart; my heart maketh a noise in me; I cannot hold my peace, because thou hast heard, O my soul, the sound of the trumpet, the alarm of war.

Destruction upon destruction is cried; for the whole land is spoiled: suddenly are my tents spoiled, and my curtains in a moment.

On annonce désastre sur désastre tout le pays est dévasté, d' un coup mes tentes sont détruites, mes abris, en un clin d' oeil.

How long shall I see the standard, and hear the sound of the trumpet?

Jusques à quand verrai-je le signal, entendrai-je l' appel du cor?

For my people is foolish, they have not known me; they are sottish children, and they have none understanding: they are wise to do evil, but to do good they have no knowledge.

C' est que mon peuple est stupide, ils ne me connaissent pas, ce sont des enfants sans réflexion, ils n' ont pas d' intelligence; ils sont sages pour faire le mal, mais ne savent pas faire le bien.

I beheld the earth, and, lo, it was without form, and void; and the heavens, and they had no light.

J' ai regardé la terre : un chaos; les cieux : leur lumière a disparu.

I beheld the mountains, and, lo, they trembled, and all the hills moved lightly.

Mijery ny tendrombohitra aho, ka mihozongozona izy; ary ny havoana rehetra mivembena avokoa.

J' ai regardé les montagnes : elles tremblent, toutes les collines sont secouées.

I beheld, and, lo, there was no man, and all the birds of the heavens were fled.

J' ai regardé : plus d' hommes; tous les oiseaux du ciel ont fui.

I beheld, and, lo, the fruitful place was a wilderness, and all the cities thereof were broken down at the presence of the Lord, and by his fierce anger.

Nojereko, ka, indro, ny saha mahavokatra aza efa tonga efitra, ary ny tanànany rehetra dia rava teo anatrehan' i Jehovah, dia teo anoloan' ny firehetan' ny fahatezerany.

J' ai regardé : le verger est un désert, toutes ses villes sont détruites devant Yahvé, devant l' ardeur de sa colère.

For thus hath the Lord said, The whole land shall be desolate; yet will I not make a full end.

Fa izao no lazain' i Jehovah: Ho lao ny tany rehetra, nefa tsy dia holevoniko avokoa izy.

Fa izao no lazain' ny Tompo: Ho lao ny tany rehetra, kanefa tsy mba hofongorako avokoa izy.

Oui, ainsi parle Yahvé Tout le pays sera désolé, mais je ne l' exterminerai pas totalement.

For this shall the earth mourn, and the heavens above be black; because I have spoken it, I have purposed it, and will not repent, neither will I turn back from it.

Noho izany dia hisaona ny tany, ary ho tonga mainty ny lanitra ambony, satria efa niteny izany Aho, sady efa nikasa izany ka tsy hanenina na hanatsoaka izany.

A cause de cela, la terre sera en deuil et le ciel, là-haut, s' assombrira! Car j' ai parlé, j' ai décidé, je ne m' en repentirai ni n' en reviendrai.

The whole city shall flee for the noise of the horsemen and bowmen; they shall go into thickets, and climb up upon the rocks: every city shall be forsaken, and not a man dwell therein.

Devant la clameur du cavalier et de l' archer, toute la ville est en fuite on s' enfonce dans les taillis, on escalade les rochers; toute ville est abandonnée, plus personne n' y habite.

And when thou art spoiled, what wilt thou do? Though thou clothest thyself with crimson, though thou deckest thee with ornaments of gold, though thou rentest thy face with painting, in vain shalt thou make thyself fair; thy lovers will despise thee, they will seek thy life.

Et toi, la dévastée, que vas-tu faire? Même si tu t' habilles de pourpre, te pares de joyaux d' or et t' agrandis les yeux à force de fard, c' est en vain que tu te fais belle! Ceux qui étaient épris de toi te dédaignent, ils en veulent à ta vie.

For I have heard a voice as of a woman in travail, and the anguish as of her that bringeth forth her first child, the voice of the daughter of Zion, that bewaileth herself, that spreadeth her hands, saying, Woe is me now! for my soul is wearied because of murderers.

Oui, j' entends les cris comme d' une femme en travail, c' est comme l' angoisse de celle qui accouche; ce sont les cris de la fille de Sion qui s' essouffle et qui tend les mains "Malheur à moi, je succombe sous les coups des meurtriers!"
