Hear ye the word which the Lord speaketh unto you, O house of Israel:

Ecoutez la parole que Yahvé vous adresse, maison d' Israël!

Jer / Jr 10:2

Thus saith the Lord, Learn not the way of the heathen, and be not dismayed at the signs of heaven; for the heathen are dismayed at them.

Ainsi parle Yahvé N' apprenez pas la voie des nations, ne soyez pas terrifiés par les signes du ciel, même si les nations en éprouvent de la terreur.

For the customs of the people are vain: for one cutteth a tree out of the forest, the work of the hands of the workman, with the axe.

Oui, les coutumes des peuples ne sont que vanité; ce n' est que du bois coupé dans une forêt, travaillé par le sculpteur, ciseau en main,

They deck it with silver and with gold; they fasten it with nails and with hammers, that it move not.

They are upright as the palm tree, but speak not: they must needs be borne, because they cannot go. Be not afraid of them; for they cannot do evil, neither also is it in them to do good.

Comme un épouvantail dans un champ de concombres, ils ne parlent pas; il faut les porter, car ils ne marchent pas! N' en ayez pas peur : ils ne peuvent faire de mal, et de bien, pas davantage.

Forasmuch as there is none like unto thee, O Lord; thou art great, and thy name is great in might.

Tsy misy tokoa izay tahaka Anao, Jehovah ô; Lehibe Hianao, ary lehibe amin' ny hery ny anaranao.

Tsy misy toa anao Iaveh ô; lehibe hianao, ary lehibe amin-kery ny anaranao.

Nul n' est comme toi, Yahvé, tu es grand, ton Nom est grand dans sa puissance.

Who would not fear thee, O King of nations? for to thee doth it appertain: forasmuch as among all the wise men of the nations, and in all their kingdoms, there is none like unto thee.

Qui ne te craindrait, roi des nations? C' est bien cela qui te convient! Car parmi tous les sages des nations et dans tous leurs royaumes, nul n' est comme toi.

But they are altogether brutish and foolish: the stock is a doctrine of vanities.

Silver spread into plates is brought from Tarshish, and gold from Uphaz, the work of the workman, and of the hands of the founder: blue and purple is their clothing: they are all the work of cunning men.

Volafotsy voafisaka nalaina avy tany Tarsisy sy volamena avy tany Ofaza Izany, asan-tanan' ny mpiasa sy ny mpanefy volamena; Lamba manga sy volomparasy ny fitafiany; Asan' ny mahay zavatra izy rehetra.

c' est de l' argent en feuilles, importé de Tarsis, c' est de l' or d' Ophir, une oeuvre de sculpteur ou d' orfèvre; on les revêt de pourpre violette et écarlate, ce sont tous oeuvre d' artisan.

But the Lord is the true God, he is the living God, and an everlasting king: at his wrath the earth shall tremble, and the nations shall not be able to abide his indignation.

Mais Yahvé est le Dieu véritable, il est le Dieu vivant et le Roi éternel. Quand il s' irrite, la terre tremble, les nations ne peuvent soutenir sa colère.

Thus shall ye say unto them, The gods that have not made the heavens and the earth, even they shall perish from the earth, and from under these heavens.

(Izao no holazainareo amin' ireny; Ny amin' ny andriamanitra izay tsy mba nanao ny lanitra sy ny tany, dia ho levona tsy ho amin' ny tany na ho atý ambanin' ny lanitra ireny)

Izao no holazainareo amin' ireny: Ireo andriamanitra tsy mba nanao ny lanitra sy ny tany, dia hofongorana eto an-tany sy aty ambanin' ny lanitra.

Voici ce que vous direz d' eux : "Les dieux qui n' ont pas fait le ciel et la terre seront exterminés de la terre et de dessous le ciel. "

Jer / Jr 10:12

He hath made the earth by his power, he hath established the world by his wisdom, and hath stretched out the heavens by his discretion.

When he uttereth his voice, there is a multitude of waters in the heavens, and he causeth the vapours to ascend from the ends of the earth; he maketh lightnings with rain, and bringeth forth the wind out of his treasures.

Quand il donne de la voix, c' est un mugissement d' eaux dans le ciel; il fait monter les nuages du bout de la terre, il produit les éclairs pour l' averse et tire le vent de ses réservoirs.

Every man is brutish in his knowledge: every founder is confounded by the graven image: for his molten image is falsehood, and there is no breath in them.

They are vanity, and the work of errors: in the time of their visitation they shall perish.

The portion of Jacob is not like them: for he is the former of all things; and Israel is the rod of his inheritance: The Lord of hosts is his name.

La Part de Jacob n' est pas comme elles, car il a façonné l' univers et Israël est la tribu de son héritage. Son nom est Yahvé Sabaot.

Gather up thy wares out of the land, O inhabitant of the fortress.

Ramasse à terre ton bagage, toi l' assiégée!

For thus saith the Lord, Behold, I will sling out the inhabitants of the land at this once, and will distress them, that they may find it so.

Fa izao no lazain' i Jehovah: Indro, hatorako ho indray misidina toy ny vaton' antsamotady ny mponina amin' ny tany, ary hataoko tery izy mba hahitany.

Car ainsi parle Yahvé Voici, je vais lancer au loin les habitants du pays, cette fois-ci, et les mettre dans l' angoisse pour qu' ils me trouvent.

Woe is me for my hurt! my wound is grievous; but I said, Truly this is a grief, and I must bear it.

"Malheur à moi! Quelle blessure! ma plaie est inguérissable. Et moi qui disais ce n' est que cela ma souffrance? Je la supporterai!

My tabernacle is spoiled, and all my cords are broken: my children are gone forth of me, and they are not: there is none to stretch forth my tent any more, and to set up my curtains.

For the pastors are become brutish, and have not sought the Lord: therefore they shall not prosper, and all their flocks shall be scattered.

C' est que les pasteurs furent stupides ils n' ont pas cherché Yahvé. Aussi n' ont-ils point réussi et tout le troupeau a été dispersé.

Behold, the noise of the bruit is come, and a great commotion out of the north country, to make the cities of Judah desolate, and a den of dragons.

Un bruit se fait entendre! Le voici! Un grand vacarme vient du pays du Nord pour réduire les villes de Juda en solitude, en repaire de chacals.

O Lord, I know that the way of man is not in himself: it is not in man that walketh to direct his steps.

Jehovah ô, fantatro fa tsy an' ny olombelona ny lalan-kalehany, na an' ny mpandeha ny hahalavorary ny diany

Fantatro ry Iaveh ô, fa tsy ny olombelona no tompon' ny làlany, tsy mba an' ny olona mandeha, ny manitsy ny diany.

Je le sais, Yahvé, la voie des humains n' est pas en leur pouvoir, et il n' est pas donné à l' homme qui marche de diriger ses pas!

O Lord, correct me, but with judgment; not in thine anger, lest thou bring me to nothing.

Jehovah ô, anaro aho, nefa araka ny antonony ihany, fa tsy amin' ny fahatezeranao, fandrao hataonao tonga tsinontsinona aho.

Iaveh ô, faizo aho, nefa aoka ho ara-drariny, fa tsy ho araka ny hatezeranao, ka ataonao zary tsinontsinona aho.

Corrige-moi, Yahvé, mais dans une juste mesure, sans t' irriter, pour ne pas trop me réduire.

Pour out thy fury upon the heathen that know thee not, and upon the families that call not on thy name: for they have eaten up Jacob, and devoured him, and consumed him, and have made his habitation desolate.

Déverse ta fureur sur les nations qui ne te connaissent pas, et sur les familles qui n' invoquent pas ton nom. Car elles ont dévoré Jacob, elles l' ont dévoré et achevé, elles ont dévasté son domaine.
