Chapitres:

Now there cried a certain woman of the wives of the sons of the prophets unto Elisha, saying, Thy servant my husband is dead; and thou knowest that thy servant did fear the Lord: and the creditor is come to take unto him my two sons to be bondmen.

Nisy vehivavy anankiray vadin' ny iray amin' ny zanaky ny mpaminany, nitaraina tamin' i Elisea, nanao hoe: Maty ny vadiko mpanomponao, ary fantatrao fa natahotra an' ny Tompo ny mpanomponao ary tonga haka ny zanako roa ho andevony ny tompon-trosa izao.

La femme d' un des frères prophètes implora Elisée en ces termes : "Ton serviteur, mon mari, est mort, et tu sais que ton serviteur craignait Yahvé. Or le prêteur sur gages est venu pour prendre mes deux enfants et en faire ses esclaves."

2Mp 4:2

And Elisha said unto her, What shall I do for thee? tell me, what hast thou in the house? And she said, Thine handmaid hath not any thing in the house, save a pot of oil.

2Mp 4:3

Then he said, Go, borrow thee vessels abroad of all thy neighbours, even empty vessels; borrow not a few.

Ary hoy izy: Andeha mindram-bilany amin' ny namanao rehetra manodidina, dia vilany tsy misy zavatra, nefa aza atao vitsy.

Ka hoy izy: Mandehana mindran-tavoara amin' ny mifanolo-bodirindrina aminao rehetra, dia tavoara foana, ka aza atao vitsy loatra.

Alors, il dit : "Va emprunter dehors des vases à tous tes voisins, des vases vides et pas trop peu!

2Mp 4:4

And when thou art come in, thou shalt shut the door upon thee and upon thy sons, and shalt pour out into all those vessels, and thou shalt set aside that which is full.

Ary rehefa tafiditra ianao, dia aoka hirindrim-baravarana ianao sy izy mirahalahy zanakao, ary manidina amin' izany vilany rehetra izany, dia atokàny izay feno.

Puis tu rentreras, tu fermeras la porte sur toi et sur tes fils et tu verseras l' huile dans tous ces vases, en les mettant de côté à mesure qu' ils seront pleins."

2Mp 4:5

So she went from him, and shut the door upon her and upon her sons, who brought the vessels to her; and she poured out.

Dia niala teo aminy ravehivavy ka nirindrim-baravarana mbamin' izy mirahalahy zanany, ary izy mirahalahy nitondra ny vilany ho any aminy, fa reniny kosa nanidina ny diloilo.

And it came to pass, when the vessels were full, that she said unto her son, Bring me yet a vessel. And he said unto her, There is not a vessel more. And the oil stayed.

Or, quand les vases furent pleins, elle dit à son fils "Tends-moi encore un vase", mais il répondit : "Il n' y a plus de vase"; alors l' huile cessa de couler.

2Mp 4:7

Then she came and told the man of God. And he said, Go, sell the oil, and pay thy debt, and live thou and thy children of the rest.

Dia avy ravehivavy ka nilaza tamin' ny lehilahin' Andriamanitra. Ary hoy kosa izy: Mandehana, amidio ny diloilo, ka anefao izay trosan' olona aminao, ary izay sisa dia hivelomanao sy ny zanakao.

Koa lasa nilaza izany tamin' ilay olon' Andriamanitra izy ary hoy izy: Mandehana amidio ny diloilo hanefanao ny trosan' olona aminao, dia hivelomanao sy ny zanakao ny sisa.

Elle alla rendre compte à l' homme de Dieu, qui dit : "Va vendre cette huile, tu rachèteras ton gage et tu vivras du reste, toi et tes fils!"

2Mp 4:8

And it fell on a day, that Elisha passed to Shunem, where was a great woman; and she constrained him to eat bread. And so it was, that as oft as he passed by, he turned in thither to eat bread.

And she said unto her husband, Behold now, I perceive that this is an holy man of God, which passeth by us continually.

Elle dit à son mari : "Vois! Je suis sûre que c' est un saint homme de Dieu qui passe toujours par chez nous.

Let us make a little chamber, I pray thee, on the wall; and let us set for him there a bed, and a table, and a stool, and a candlestick: and it shall be, when he cometh to us, that he shall turn in thither.

Masìna ianao, andeha isika hanao efi-trano kely ambony rihana; ary hasiantsika fandriana sy latabatra sy seza ary fanaovan-jiro ho azy ao; ary raha tonga eto amintsika izy, dia ao no hipetraka.

Construisons-lui donc une petite chambre haute avec des murs, et nous y mettrons pour lui un lit, une table, un siège et une lampe : quand il viendra chez nous, il se retirera là."

And it fell on a day, that he came thither, and he turned into the chamber, and lay there.

And he said to Gehazi his servant, Call this Shunammite. And when he had called her, she stood before him.

Ary hoy izy tamin' i Gehazy zatovony: Antsoy ilay Sonemita. Ary rehefa nantsoiny ravehivavy, dia nitsangana teo anatrehany izy.

Ary hoy izy tamin' i Giezi mpanompony: Antsoy ilay vehivavy Sonamita. Dia nantsoin' i Giezi ka nandroso nankeo anatrehany.

Il dit à Géhazi son serviteur : "Appelle cette bonne Shunamite"Il l' appela et elle se tint devant lui.

2Mp 4:13

And he said unto him, Say now unto her, Behold, thou hast been careful for us with all this care; what is to be done for thee? wouldest thou be spoken for to the king, or to the captain of the host? And she answered, I dwell among mine own people.

Ary hoy Elisa tamin' i Gehazy: Mba lazao amin-dravehivavy hoe: Indro, efa niahy anay tamin' izao fiahiana rehetra izao ianao, koa inona kosa no mba hatao ho anao? Tianao holazaina amin' ny mpanjaka va ianao, na amin' ny komandin' ny miaramila? Dia namaly ravehivavy hoe: Mitoetra atý amin' ny fireneko aho.

Ary hoy Elisea tamin' i Giezi: Lazao azy kely izao: Indro nikarakara anay tamin' izao zavatra rehetra izao hianao, ka inona kosa no mety hatao ho anao? Tianao va ny hiresahako amin' ny mpanjaka na amin' ny filohan' ny tafika mba ho anao? Dia hoy ny navalin-dravehivavy: Efa monina eto amin' ny fireneko aho.

Elisée reprit : "Dis-lui : Tu t' es donné tout ce souci pour nous. Que peut-on faire pour toi? Y a-t-il un mot à dire pour toi au roi ou au chef de l' armée?" Mais elle répondit : "Je séjourne au milieu des miens."

2Mp 4:14

And he said, What then is to be done for her? And Gehazi answered, Verily she hath no child, and her husband is old.

Ary hoy Elisa: Fa inona ary no hatao ho anao? Dia namaly Gehazy hoe: Tsy hitanao va fa tsy manan-janaka izy, sady efa antitra ny lahy?

Ary hoy Elisea: Ka inona ary no hatao ho azy? Dia hoy ny navalin' i Giezi: Zanaka no tsy ananany ary ny lahy efa antitra.

Il continua : "Alors, que peut-on faire pour elle?" Géhazi répondit : "Eh bien! Elle n' a pas de fils et son mari est âgé."

And he said, Call her. And when he had called her, she stood in the door.

Ary hoy Elisa: Antsoy ary izy. Ary nony nantsoiny izy, dia nitsangana teo am-baravarana.

Ary hoy Elisea: Antsoy ary izy. Dia nantsoiny izy ka nijanona teo am-baravarana;

Elisée dit : "Appelle-la"Le serviteur l' appela et elle se tint à l' entrée.

2Mp 4:16

And he said, About this season, according to the time of life, thou shalt embrace a son. And she said, Nay, my lord, thou man of God, do not lie unto thine handmaid.

Dia hoy izy: Raha mby amin' ny fotoana, raha avy ny taona toy izao, dia hitrotro zazalahy ianao. Ary hoy ravehivavy: Tsia, ry tompoko, lehilahin' Andriamanitra, aza mandainga amin' ny ankizivavinao.

ka hoy Elisea taminy: Raha afaka herintaona amin' izao fotoana izao dia hisafosafo zazalahy hianao. Fa hoy izy: Tsia, aza dia laingainao ny ankizivavinao, ry olon' Andriamanitra tompoko.

"A cette saison, l' an prochain, dit-il, tu tiendras un fils dans tes bras." Mais elle dit : "Non, Monseigneur, ne trompe pas ta servante!"

2Mp 4:17

And the woman conceived, and bare a son at that season that Elisha had said unto her, according to the time of life.

Or la femme conçut et elle enfanta un fils à la saison que lui avait dite Elisée.

2Mp 4:18

And when the child was grown, it fell on a day, that he went out to his father to the reapers.

Ary nony efa lehibe ny zaza, dia nankany amin' ny rainy tany amin' ny mpijinja vary izy indray andro,

Dia nihalehibe ny zaza. Ary indray andro, nankany amin-drainy tany amin' ny mpijinja vary izy,

L' enfant grandit. Un jour il alla trouver son père auprès des moissonneurs

2Mp 4:19

And he said unto his father, My head, my head. And he said to a lad, Carry him to his mother.

Ary hoy izy tamin-drainy: Edrey! ny an-dohako! ny an-dohako! Ary hoy rainy tamin' ny zatovo anankiray: Ento ho any amin-dreniny izy.

ka nanao tamin-drainy hoe: Izany an-dohako! Izany an-dohako! Dia hoy rainy tamin' ny mpanompony: Ento any amin-dreniny izy.

et il dit à son père : "Oh! ma tête! ma tête!" et le père ordonna à un serviteur de le porter à sa mère.

2Mp 4:20

And when he had taken him, and brought him to his mother, he sat on her knees till noon, and then died.

Dia notrotroin' ilay zatovo izy ka nentiny ho any amin-dreniny, ary nampofoiny izy mandra-pitataovovonan' ny andro, dia maty.

Nony nentin' ny mpanompo sy nateriny tany amin-dreniny ilay zaza, dia nipetraka teo am-pofoan-dreniny mandra-pitataovovonana ny andro ary tamin' izay dia maty izy.

Celui-ci le prit et le conduisit à sa mère; il resta sur ses genoux jusqu'à midi et il mourut.

And she went up, and laid him on the bed of the man of God, and shut the door upon him, and went out.

Ary ravehivavy niakatra ka nampandry azy teo amin' ny fandrian' ilay lehilahin' Andriamanitra, dia narindriny ny trano, ka nivoaka izy.

Niakatra nampandry azy teo amin' ny farafaran' ilay olon' Andriamanitra ravehivavy, dia narindriny aman-trano tao ny zaza, ary nivoaka izy,

Elle monta l'étendre sur le lit de l' homme de Dieu, ferma la porte et sortit.

2Mp 4:22

And she called unto her husband, and said, Send me, I pray thee, one of the young men, and one of the asses, that I may run to the man of God, and come again.

Ary niantso ny vadiny izy ka nanao hoe: Masìna ianao, asaovy misy zatovo anankiray mankaty amiko mitondra borikivavy anankiray, fa handeha faingana ho any amin' ny lehilahin' Andriamanitra aho, dia hiverina indray.

Elle appela son mari et dit : "Envoie-moi l' un des serviteurs avec une ânesse, je cours chez l' homme de Dieu et je reviens."

2Mp 4:23

And he said, Wherefore wilt thou go to him to day? it is neither new moon, nor sabbath. And she said, It shall be well.

Fa hoy ny lahy: Inona no hankanesanao any aminy anio, nefa tsy mba andro tsinam-bolana na Sabata tsinona izao? Ary hoy ravehivavy: Ka nahoana aza?

Fa hoy ny lahy: Nahoana no hankanesanao any anio? Tsy tsinam-bolana izao, tsy andro sabata akory? Dia hoy ny navalin-dravehivavy: Aza manana ahiahy.

Il demanda : "Pourquoi vas-tu chez lui aujourd' hui? Ce n' est pas la néoménie ni le sabbat", mais elle répondit : "Reste en paix."

2Mp 4:24

Then she saddled an ass, and said to her servant, Drive, and go forward; slack not thy riding for me, except I bid thee.

Ary ravehivavy dia nanisy lasely ny borikivavy, ka hoy izy tamin' ny zatovony: Ampandehano, izy ka mizora; aza miahotrahotra akory amin' ny fampandehananao azy, raha tsy ampijanoniko ianao.

Elle fit seller l'ânesse et dit à son serviteur : "Mène-moi, va! Ne m' arrête pas en route sans que je te l' ordonne";

2Mp 4:25

So she went and came unto the man of God to mount Carmel. And it came to pass, when the man of God saw her afar off, that he said to Gehazi his servant, Behold, yonder is that Shunammite:

Dia lasa ravehivavy nankany amin' ny lehilahin' Andriamanitra tany an-tendrombohitra Karmela. Ary raha vao tazan' ny lehilahin' Andriamanitra avy erý izy, dia hoy izy tamin' i Gehazy zatovony: Ilay Sonemita lahy iry;

elle partit et alla vers l' homme de Dieu, au mont Carmel. Lorsque l' homme de Dieu la vit de loin, il dit à son serviteur Géhazi : "Voici cette bonne Shunamite.

Run now, I pray thee, to meet her, and say unto her, Is it well with thee? is it well with thy husband? is it well with the child? And she answered, It is well:

masìna ianao, mihazakazaha hitsena azy, ka ataovy aminy hoe: Tsara ihany va ianao: Tsara ihany va ny vadinao? Tsara ihany va ny zazalahy? Ary hoy ny famaliny: Tsara ihany.

Maintenant, cours à sa rencontre et demande-lui : Vas-tu bien? Ton mari va-t-il bien? Ton enfant va-t-il bien?" Elle répondit : "Bien."

2Mp 4:27

And when she came to the man of God to the hill, she caught him by the feet: but Gehazi came near to thrust her away. And the man of God said, Let her alone; for her soul is vexed within her: and the Lord hath hid it from me, and hath not told me.

Ary rehefa tonga tany amin' ny lehilahin' Andriamanitra tany an-tendrombohitra izy, dia nandray ny tongony; fa Gehazy nanatona hampiala azy. Nefa hoy ny lehilahin' Andriamanitra: Avelao ihany izy, fa ory ny fanahiny ao anatiny, ary Jehovah efa nanafina izany tamiko, fa tsy nanambara tamiko.

Nony vao tonga tany amin' ity olon' Andriamanitra tany an-tendrombohitra izy, dia namihina ny tongony. Nanatona hanifika azy Giezi, fa hoy ny olon' Andriamanitra: Avelao izy, fa difotr' alahelo ny fony, ary nafenin' ny Tompo tamiko izany, fa tsy nampahalalainy ahy.

Quand elle rejoignit l' homme de Dieu sur la montagne, elle saisit ses pieds. Géhazi s' approcha pour la repousser, mais l' homme de Dieu dit : "Laisse-la, car son âme est dans l' amertume; Yahvé me l' a caché, il ne m' a rien annoncé."

2Mp 4:28

Then she said, Did I desire a son of my lord? did I not say, Do not deceive me?

Dia hoy ravehivavy: Moa naniry zaza taminao va aho, tompoko? Tsy hoy va aho: Aza mamitaka ahy?

Dia hoy ravehivavy: Moa ve nangata-jaza tamin' ny tompoko aho? Tsy izao va no nataoko: Aza laingainao aho?

Elle dit : "Avais-je demandé un fils à Monseigneur? Ne t' avais-je pas dit de ne pas me leurrer?"

2Mp 4:29

Then he said to Gehazi, Gird up thy loins, and take my staff in thine hand, and go thy way: if thou meet any man, salute him not; and if any salute thee, answer him not again: and lay my staff upon the face of the child.

Ary hoy izy tamin' i Gehazy: Misikina, ary ento eny an-tananao ny tehiko, ka mandehana, raha mifanena amin' olona ianao, aza miarahaba azy; ary raha misy miarahaba anao, aza mamaly azy akory; ary apetraho eo amin' ny tavan' ny zazalahy ny tehiko.

Ary hoy Elisea tamin' i Giezi: Misikìna hianao, ento eny an-tànanao ny tehiko, dia mandehana. Ka raha mifanena amin' olona aza miarahaba azy; raha arahabain' olona aza mamaly azy. Dia apetraho eo amin' ny tavan' ny zaza ny tehiko,

Elisée dit à Géhazi : "Ceins tes reins, prends mon bâton en main et va! Si tu rencontres quelqu' un, tu ne le salueras pas, et si quelqu' un te salue, tu ne lui répondras pas. Tu étendras mon bâton au-dessus de l' enfant."

2Mp 4:30

And the mother of the child said, As the Lord liveth, and as thy soul liveth, I will not leave thee. And he arose, and followed her.

Ary hoy ny renin' ny zazalahy: Raha velona koa Jehovah, ary raha velona koa ny ainao, dia tsy hiala aminao mihitsy aho. Ary ilay lehilahin' Andriamanitra nitsangana ka nanaraka azy.

Fa hoy ny renin' ny zaza: Velona Iaveh! ary velona koa ny fanahinao! ka tsy ilaozako hianao. Koa nitsangana Elisea dia nanaraka azy.

Mais la mère de l' enfant dit : "Aussi vrai que Yahvé est vivant et que tu vis toi-même, je ne te quitterai pas!" Alors il se leva et la suivit.

2Mp 4:31

And Gehazi passed on before them, and laid the staff upon the face of the child; but there was neither voice, nor hearing. Wherefore he went again to meet him, and told him, saying, The child is not awaked.

Ary Gehazy nialoha azy ka nametraka ny tehina teo amin' ny tavan' ny zazalahy; fa tsy nisy feo na faharenesana. Dia niverina nitsena azy indray izy ka nilaza taminy hoe: Tsy mahatsiaro akory ny zazalahy.

Nialoha azy ireo Giezi nametraka ny tehina tamin' ny tavan' ilay zaza nefa tsy nisy feo na famantaran' ny naharenesany. Ka niverina hitsena an' i Elisea izy, nilaza izany taminy, nanao hoe: Tsy nahatsiaro akory ny zaza.

Géhazi les avait précédés et il avait étendu le bâton au-dessus de l' enfant, mais il n' y eut ni voix ni réaction. Il revint au-devant d' Elisée et lui rapporta ceci : "L' enfant ne s' est pas réveillé."

2Mp 4:32

And when Elisha was come into the house, behold, the child was dead, and laid upon his bed.

Ary rehefa tonga tao an-trano Elisa, indro, maty ny zazalahy sady nampandrina teo am-pandriany.

Elisée arriva à la maison; là était l' enfant, mort et couché sur son propre lit.

2Mp 4:33

He went in therefore, and shut the door upon them twain, and prayed unto the Lord.

Nony tafiditra izy dia nirindrina aman-trano tao izy roa lahy ary nivavaka tamin' ny Tompo Elisea.

2Mp 4:34

And he went up, and lay upon the child, and put his mouth upon his mouth, and his eyes upon his eyes, and his hands upon his hands: and stretched himself upon the child; and the flesh of the child waxed warm.

And he called Gehazi, and said, Call this Shunammite. So he called her. And when she was come in unto him, he said, Take up thy son.

Elisée revint à Gilgal pendant que la famine était dans le pays. Comme les frères prophètes étaient assis devant lui, il dit à son serviteur : "Mets la grande marmite sur le feu et cuis une soupe pour les frères prophètes."

And one went out into the field to gather herbs, and found a wild vine, and gathered thereof wild gourds his lap full, and came and shred them into the pot of pottage: for they knew them not.

L' un d' eux sortit dans la campagne pour ramasser des herbes, trouva des sarments sauvages, sur lesquels il cueillit des coloquintes, plein son vêtement. Il revint et les coupa en morceaux dans la marmite de soupe, car on ne savait pas ce que c'était.

So they poured out for the men to eat. And it came to pass, as they were eating of the pottage, that they cried out, and said, O thou man of God, there is death in the pot. And they could not eat thereof.

On versa à manger aux hommes. Mais à peine eurent-ils goûté le potage qu' ils poussèrent un cri : "Homme de Dieu! Il y a la mort dans la marmite!" et ils ne purent pas manger.

But he said, Then bring meal. And he cast it into the pot; and he said, Pour out for the people, that they may eat. And there was no harm in the pot.

Fa hoy Elisa: Itondray koba. Dia narotsany tao am-bilany ny koba, ka hoy izy: Andoary amin' izao ny olona hohaniny. Ary dia tsy nisy zavatra nampaninona intsony tao am-bilany.

Alors Elisée dit : "Eh bien! apportez de la farine." Il la jeta dans la marmite et dit : "Verse aux gens et qu' ils mangent"Il n' y avait plus rien de mauvais dans la marmite.

And there came a man from Baalshalisha, and brought the man of God bread of the firstfruits, twenty loaves of barley, and full ears of corn in the husk thereof. And he said, Give unto the people, that they may eat.

Un homme vint de Baal-Shalisha et apporta à l' homme de Dieu du pain de prémices, vingt pains d' orge et du grain frais dans son épi. Celui-ci ordonna : "Offre aux gens et qu' ils mangent",

And his servitor said, What, should I set this before an hundred men? He said again, Give the people, that they may eat: for thus saith the Lord, They shall eat, and shall leave thereof.

mais son serviteur répondit : "Comment servirai-je cela à cent personnes?" Il reprit : "Offre aux gens et qu' ils mangent, car ainsi a parlé Yahvé : On mangera et on en aura de reste."

2Mp 4:44

So he set it before them, and they did eat, and left thereof, according to the word of the Lord.
