Then Moab rebelled against Israel after the death of Ahab.

2Mp 1:2

And Ahaziah fell down through a lattice in his upper chamber that was in Samaria, and was sick: and he sent messengers, and said unto them, Go, enquire of Baalzebub the god of Ekron whether I shall recover of this disease.

Comme Ochozias était tombé du balcon de son appartement à Samarie et qu' il allait mal, il envoya des messagers à qui il dit : "Allez consulter Baal-Zebub, dieu d' Eqrôn, pour savoir si je guérirai de mon mal présent."

But the angel of the Lord said to Elijah the Tishbite, Arise, go up to meet the messengers of the king of Samaria, and say unto them, Is it not because there is not a God in Israel, that ye go to enquire of Baalzebub the god of Ekron?

Mais l' Ange de Yahvé dit à Elie le Tishbite : "Debout! monte à la rencontre des messagers du roi de Samarie et dis-leur : N' y a-t-il donc pas de Dieu en Israël, que vous alliez consulter Baal-Zebub, dieu d' Eqrôn?

2Mp 1:4

Now therefore thus saith the Lord, Thou shalt not come down from that bed on which thou art gone up, but shalt surely die. And Elijah departed.

C' est pourquoi ainsi parle Yahvé : Le lit où tu es monté, tu n' en descendras pas, tu mourras certainement." Et Elie s' en alla.

2Mp 1:5

And when the messengers turned back unto him, he said unto them, Why are ye now turned back?

Niverina ho any amin' ny mpanjaka ireto irany, ka hoy izy tamin' izy ireo: Fa nahoana no miverina hianareo?

Les messagers revinrent vers Ochozias, qui leur dit : "Pourquoi donc revenez-vous?"

2Mp 1:6

And they said unto him, There came a man up to meet us, and said unto us, Go, turn again unto the king that sent you, and say unto him, Thus saith the Lord, Is it not because there is not a God in Israel, that thou sendest to enquire of Baalzebub the god of Ekron? therefore thou shalt not come down from that bed on which thou art gone up, but shalt surely die.

Ary hoy ny navalin' ireo taminy: Nisy lehilahy niakatra nitsena anay, nanao taminay hoe: Mandehana miverina any amin' ny mpanjaka naniraka anareo, ka lazao aminy hoe: Izao no lazain' ny Tompo: Moa ny tsy fisian' Andriamanitra ao amin' Israely va no anirahanao hanontany amin' i Beela-Zeboba andriamanitr' i Akarona? Noho izany, tsy hidina hiala eo am-parafara niakaranao hianao, fa ho faty mihitsy.

Ils lui répondirent : "Un homme nous a abordés et nous a dit Allez, retournez auprès du roi qui vous a envoyés, et dites-lui : Ainsi parle Yahvé. N' y a-t-il donc pas de Dieu en Israël, que tu envoies consulter Baal-Zebub, dieu d' Eqrôn? C' est pourquoi le lit où tu es monté, tu n' en descendras pas, tu mourras certainement."

2Mp 1:7

And he said unto them, What manner of man was he which came up to meet you, and told you these words?

Ary hoy izy taminy: Lehilahy toy inona izay niakatra nitsena anareo izay ka nilaza izany teny izany taminareo?

Dia hoy Okoziasa tamin' izy ireo: Manao ahoana no endriky ny lehilahy izay niakatra nitsena anareo izay, sy nilaza izany teny izany taminareo?

Il leur demanda : "De quel genre était l' homme qui vous a abordés et vous a dit ces paroles?"

2Mp 1:8

And they answered him, He was an hairy man, and girt with a girdle of leather about his loins. And he said, It is Elijah the Tishbite.

Et ils lui répondirent : "C'était un homme avec une toison et un pagne de peau autour des reins." Il dit : "C' est Elie le Tishbite!"

Then the king sent unto him a captain of fifty with his fifty. And he went up to him: and, behold, he sat on the top of an hill. And he spake unto him, Thou man of God, the king hath said, Come down.

Niaraka tamin' izay, nirahiny ho any aminy ny mpifehy dimampolo anankiray mbamin' ny dimampolo fehiny. Dia niakatra io mpifehy io, nankeo amin' i Elia ka indro izy nipetraka teo an-tampon-tendrombohitra, ary hoy izy taminy hoe: Ry olon' Andriamanitra ô! midina hianao, hoy ny mpanjaka.

Il lui envoya un cinquantenier avec sa cinquantaine, qui monta vers lui il était assis au sommet de la montagne et lui dit : "Homme de Dieu! Le roi a ordonné : Descends!"

2Mp 1:10

And Elijah answered and said to the captain of fifty, If I be a man of God, then let fire come down from heaven, and consume thee and thy fifty. And there came down fire from heaven, and consumed him and his fifty.

Elie répondit et dit au cinquantenier : "Si je suis un homme de Dieu, qu' un feu descende du ciel et te dévore, toi et ta cinquantaine", et un feu descendit du ciel et le dévora, lui et sa cinquantaine.

2Mp 1:11

Again also he sent unto him another captain of fifty with his fifty. And he answered and said unto him, O man of God, thus hath the king said, Come down quickly.

Naniraka mpifehy dimampolo hafa indray anefa ny mpanjaka, nomban' ny dimampolo fehiny. Ka dia niteny io mpifehy io, nanao tamin' i Elia hoe: Ry olon' Andriamanitra ô, midìna faingana hianao, hoy ny mpanjaka.

Le roi lui envoya de nouveau un autre cinquantenier avec sa cinquantaine, qui monta et lui dit : "Homme de Dieu! Le roi a donné cet ordre : Dépêche-toi de descendre!"

2Mp 1:12

And Elijah answered and said unto them, If I be a man of God, let fire come down from heaven, and consume thee and thy fifty. And the fire of God came down from heaven, and consumed him and his fifty.

Fa namaly Elia ka nanao taminy hoe: Raha lehilahin' Andriamanitra tokoa aho, dia aoka hisy afo milatsaka avy any an-danitra ka handevona anao mbamin' ny dimam-polo fehinao. Ary dia nisy afon' Andriamanitra nilatsaka avy tany an-danitra ka nandevona azy mbamin' ny dimam-polo fehiny.

Elie répondit et lui dit : "Si je suis un homme de Dieu, qu' un feu descende du ciel et te dévore, toi et ta cinquantaine", et un feu descendit du ciel et le dévora, lui et sa cinquantaine.

2Mp 1:13

And he sent again a captain of the third fifty with his fifty. And the third captain of fifty went up, and came and fell on his knees before Elijah, and besought him, and said unto him, O man of God, I pray thee, let my life, and the life of these fifty thy servants, be precious in thy sight.

Le roi envoya encore un troisième cinquantenier et sa cinquantaine. Le troisième cinquantenier arriva, plia les genoux devant Elie et le supplia ainsi : "Homme de Dieu! Que ma vie et celle de tes 50 serviteurs que voici aient quelque prix à tes yeux!

2Mp 1:14

Behold, there came fire down from heaven, and burnt up the two captains of the former fifties with their fifties: therefore let my life now be precious in thy sight.

Indro, efa nisy afo nilatsaka avy tany an-danitra ka nandevona ireo roa lahy mpifehy dimam-polo ireo mbamin' ny dimam-polo fehiny avy; fa aoka kosa ho zava-tsoa eo imasonao ny aiko ankehitriny.

Un feu est descendu du ciel et a dévoré les deux premiers cinquanteniers et leur cinquantaine; mais maintenant, que ma vie ait quelque prix à tes yeux!"

2Mp 1:15

And the angel of the Lord said unto Elijah, Go down with him: be not afraid of him. And he arose, and went down with him unto the king.

Ary hoy Ilay Anjelin' i Jehovah tamin' i Elia: Midina ihany hiaraka aminy ianao; fa aza matahotra azy. Ary dia niainga izy ka nidina niaraka taminy ho any amin' ny mpanjaka.

L' ange de Yahvé dit à Elie : "Descends avec lui, n' aie pas peur de lui." Il se leva et descendit avec lui vers le roi,

2Mp 1:16

And he said unto him, Thus saith the Lord, Forasmuch as thou hast sent messengers to enquire of Baalzebub the god of Ekron, is it not because there is no God in Israel to enquire of his word? therefore thou shalt not come down off that bed on which thou art gone up, but shalt surely die.

Ary hoy izy tamin' ny mpanjaka: Izao no lazain' i Jehovah: Satria naniraka olona hanontany amin' i Bala-zeboba, andriamanitr' i Ekrona, ianao, hoatra ny tsy misy Andriamanitra eo amin' ny Isiraely, dia tsy hidina hiala amin' ny farafara izay niakaranao ianao fa ho faty tokoa.

2Mp 1:17

So he died according to the word of the Lord which Elijah had spoken. And Jehoram reigned in his stead in the second year of Jehoram the son of Jehoshaphat king of Judah; because he had no son.

Il mourut, selon la parole de Yahvé qu' Elie avait prononcée. Joram, son frère, devint roi à sa place en la deuxième année de Joram fils de Josaphat, roi de Juda, en effet il n' avait pas de fils.

Now the rest of the acts of Ahaziah which he did, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel?
