I thought it good to shew the signs and wonders that the high God hath wrought toward me.

How great are his signs! and how mighty are his wonders! his kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and his dominion is from generation to generation.

Je décrétai : qu' on m' amène tous les sages de Babylone pour qu' ils me fassent connaître l' interprétation du rêve.

I Nebuchadnezzar was at rest in mine house, and flourishing in my palace:

Magiciens, devins, Chaldéens et exorcistes sont venus : je leur dis mon rêve, ils ne m' en donnèrent pas l' interprétation.

I saw a dream which made me afraid, and the thoughts upon my bed and the visions of my head troubled me.

Nony farany, tonga teo anatrehako Daniely ilay atao hoe Baltasara ny anarany, araka ny anaran' ny andriamanitro, sady manana ao anatiny ny fanahin' ireo andriamanitra masina, ka nambarako teo anatrehany ny nofy, nataoko hoe:

Puis se présenta devant moi Daniel, surnommé Baltassar, selon le nom de mon dieu, et en qui réside l' esprit des dieux saints. Je lui dis mon songe

Therefore made I a decree to bring in all the wise men of Babylon before me, that they might make known unto me the interpretation of the dream.

Ry Beltesazara, lehiben' ny ombiasy, fantatro fa misy fanahin' ireo andriamanitra masina ao anatinao, ary tsy misy zava-miafina manahirana anao, koa ambarao ahy ny fahitana izay hitako tamin' ny nofy mbamin' ny heviny.

Ry Baltasara, lehiben' ny mpahay taratasy ô, fantatro fa ao aminao ny fanahin' ireo andriamanitra masina, ary tsy misy zava-miafina manahirana anao; ka ambarao ahy ny fahitana hitako tamin' ny nofy, mbamin' ny heviny.

"Baltassar, chef des magiciens, je sais qu' en toi réside l' esprit des dieux saints et qu' aucun secret ne t' embarrasse voici le songe que j' ai eu; donne-m' en l' interprétation.

Then came in the magicians, the astrologers, the Chaldeans, and the soothsayers: and I told the dream before them; but they did not make known unto me the interpretation thereof.

Fa izao no fahitan' ny lohako teo am-pandriako: Nijery aho, ka, indro, nisy hazo teo afovoan' ny tany, ary fatratra ny hahavony.

But at the last Daniel came in before me, whose name was Belteshazzar, according to the name of my God, and in whom is the spirit of the holy gods: and before him I told the dream, saying,

L' arbre grandit, devint puissant, sa hauteur atteignait le ciel, sa vue, les confins de toute la terre.

O Belteshazzar, master of the magicians, because I know that the spirit of the holy gods is in thee, and no secret troubleth thee, tell me the visions of my dream that I have seen, and the interpretation thereof.

Tsara tarehy ny raviny, ary betsaka ny voany, sady teo aminy no nisy hanina ho an' ny rehetra; teny ambaniny no nialokalofan' ny bibidia, ary teny amin' ny sampany no nitoeran' ny voro-manidina, ary ny nofo rehetra nahazo hanina avy aminy.

tsara tarehy ny raviny, betsaka ny voany, nisy hohanin' izao rehetra izao teo aminy; nialoka teo ambaniny ny biby an-tsaha, nipetraka teny amin' ny rantsany ny voromanidina, ary nahazo hanina avy aminy ny nofo rehetra.

Son feuillage était beau, abondant son fruit; en lui chacun trouvait sa nourriture, il donnait l' ombre aux bêtes des champs, dans ses branches nichaient les oiseaux du ciel et toute chair se nourrissait de lui.

Thus were the visions of mine head in my bed; I saw, and behold a tree in the midst of the earth, and the height thereof was great.

Je contemplai les visions de ma tête, sur ma couche. Voici : un Vigilant, un saint descend du ciel.

The tree grew, and was strong, and the height thereof reached unto heaven, and the sight thereof to the end of all the earth:

The leaves thereof were fair, and the fruit thereof much, and in it was meat for all: the beasts of the field had shadow under it, and the fowls of the heaven dwelt in the boughs thereof, and all flesh was fed of it.

Nefa avelao amin' ny tany ao amin' ny ahitra maitso any an-tsaha ihany ny fotony, ka asio fehy vy sy varahina; ary aoka ho kotsan' ny andon' ny lanitra izy, ary aoka ny anjarany ho amin' ny biby any amin' ny ahitra amin' ny tany;

Mais que restent en terre souche et racines dans des liens de fer et de bronze, dans l' herbe des champs. Qu' il soit baigné de la rosée du ciel et que l' herbe de la terre soit sa part avec les bêtes des champs.

I saw in the visions of my head upon my bed, and, behold, a watcher and an holy one came down from heaven;

Son coeur se détournera des hommes, un coeur de bête lui sera donné et sept temps passeront sur lui!

He cried aloud, and said thus, Hew down the tree, and cut off his branches, shake off his leaves, and scatter his fruit: let the beasts get away from under it, and the fowls from his branches:

C' est la sentence que prononcent les Vigilants, la question tranchée par les saints, afin que sache tout vivant que le Très-Haut a domaine sur le royaume des hommes il le donne à qui lui plaît et élève le plus bas d' entre les hommes!

Nevertheless leave the stump of his roots in the earth, even with a band of iron and brass, in the tender grass of the field; and let it be wet with the dew of heaven, and let his portion be with the beasts in the grass of the earth:

Izany no nofy izay hitako, izaho Nebokadnezara. Ary ianao kosa, ry Beltesazara, milazà ny heviny, fa ny olon-kendry rehetra amin' ny fanjakako tsy nisy nahay nampahafantatra ahy ny hevitr' izany; fa ianao no mahay azy, satria misy fanahin' ireo andriamanitra masina no anatinao.

Izany no nofy hitako, izaho Nabokodonozora mpanjaka, ary hianao kosa, ry Baltasara, no aoka hilaza ny heviny fa tsy nisy nahay nampahafantatra tamiko, ny olon-kendry rehetra eto amin' ny fanjakako; hianao no mahay izany, satria ao aminao ny fanahin' ireo andriamanitra masina.

Tel est le songe que j' ai eu, moi Nabuchodonosor, roi. Toi, Baltassar, donne-m' en l' interprétation, car aucun des sages de mon royaume n' a pu m' en faire connaître l' interprétation; mais toi tu le peux, puisque en toi réside l' esprit des dieux saints."

Let his heart be changed from man' s, and let a beast' s heart be given unto him; and let seven times pass over him.

Dia gaga vetivety Daniela, izay atao hoe Beltesazara, ary ny eritreriny naharaiki-tahotra azy. Namaly Baltasara nanao hoe: Tompokolahy ô, ho amin' ny fahavalonao anie ny nofy, ary ho amin' izay mankahala anao anie ny heviny.

Alors Daniel, surnommé Baltassar, fut un instant confondu et troublé dans ses pensées. Le roi dit : "Baltassar, ne sois pas troublé par ce songe et son interprétation." Baltassar répondit : "Monseigneur, ce songe soit pour ceux qui te haïssent, et son interprétation pour tes adversaires!

This matter is by the decree of the watchers, and the demand by the word of the holy ones: to the intent that the living may know that the most High ruleth in the kingdom of men, and giveth it to whomsoever he will, and setteth up over it the basest of men.

Cet arbre que tu as vu, grand et fort et élevé, atteignant au ciel et visible par toute la terre,

This dream I king Nebuchadnezzar have seen. Now thou, O Belteshazzar, declare the interpretation thereof, forasmuch as all the wise men of my kingdom are not able to make known unto me the interpretation: but thou art able; for the spirit of the holy gods is in thee.

Then Daniel, whose name was Belteshazzar, was astonied for one hour, and his thoughts troubled him. The king spake, and said, Belteshazzar, let not the dream, or the interpretation thereof, trouble thee. Belteshazzar answered and said, My lord, the dream be to them that hate thee, and the interpretation thereof to thine enemies.

c' est toi, ô roi, qui es devenu grand et puissant, et ta grandeur a augmenté et a atteint jusqu' au ciel, et ton empire jusqu' aux confins de la terre.

The tree that thou sawest, which grew, and was strong, whose height reached unto the heaven, and the sight thereof to all the earth;

Ny nahitan' ny mpanjaka mpiambina masina, nidina avy any an-danitra, nanao hoe: Kapao ny hazo, ary ravao izy; kanefa avelao ao amin' ny tany ny fototry ny fakany, fa asio rojo vy amam-barahana, eo afovoan' ny ahitra any an-tsaha; dia aoka ho kotsan' ny andon' ny lanitra izy ary aoka iombonany amin' ny biby, any an-tsaha, mandra-pahalanin' ny fetr' andro fito aminy,

"Quant à ce qu' a vu le roi : un Vigilant, un saint, descendu du ciel, qui disait : Abattez l' arbre, détruisez-le, mais la souche et ses racines, laissez-les en terre, dans des liens de fer et de bronze, dans l' herbe des champs, et qu' il soit baigné de la rosée du ciel et que sa part soit avec les bêtes des champs jusqu'à ce que sept temps soient passés sur lui

Whose leaves were fair, and the fruit thereof much, and in it was meat for all; under which the beasts of the field dwelt, and upon whose branches the fowls of the heaven had their habitation:

It is thou, O king, that art grown and become strong: for thy greatness is grown, and reacheth unto heaven, and thy dominion to the end of the earth.

Horoahina hiala amin' ny olona ianao, ary ny fonenanao ho any amin' ny bibi-dia ary hampihinanina ahitra toy ny omby ianao ary ho kotsan' ny andon' ny lanitra, ary fetr' andro fito no holanina aminao, ambara-pahafantatrao fa ny Avo Indrindra no manapaka amin' ny fanjakan' ny olona ka manome izany ho an' izay tiany.

Horoahina hiala amin' ny olombelona hianao; ho any amin' ny biby any an-tsaha, ny fonenanao; hampihinanina ahitra hoatra ny omby hianao, havela ho kotsan' ny andon' ny lanitra hianao, ary fetr' andro fito no holanina aminao, mandra-pahafantatrao fa ny Avo Indrindra no mizaka ny fanjakan' ny olombelona, sy manome izany ho an' izay tiany.

"Tu seras chassé d' entre les hommes et avec les bêtes des champs sera ta demeure, tu te nourriras d' herbe, comme les boeufs, tu seras baigné de la rosée du ciel, sept temps passeront sur toi, jusqu'à ce que tu aies appris que le Très-Haut a domaine sur le royaume des hommes et qu' il le donne à qui lui plaît.

And whereas the king saw a watcher and an holy one coming down from heaven, and saying, Hew the tree down, and destroy it; yet leave the stump of the roots thereof in the earth, even with a band of iron and brass, in the tender grass of the field; and let it be wet with the dew of heaven, and let his portion be with the beasts of the field, till seven times pass over him;

Ary ny nasainy namelana ny fotony: ny fanjakanao mbola hampodina ho anao tokoa, rehefa fantatrao fa ny lanitra no manapaka.

Ary mba havela kosa, dia mbola haverina aminao indray ny fanjakanao, rahefa ekenao fa an' ny lanitra ny fizakana.

"Et cette parole : Laissez la souche et les racines de l' arbre, c' est que ton royaume sera préservé pour toi jusqu'à ce que tu aies appris que les Cieux ont tout domaine.

This is the interpretation, O king, and this is the decree of the most High, which is come upon my lord the king:

Koa aoka hankasitrahanao ny anatro, ry mpanjaka, ka dia ny fahamarinana no ento mampitsahatra ny fahotanao,ary ny fiantrana ny mahantra no ento mampitsahatra ny helokao, fandrao mba hampaharetina ahay ny fiadananao.

Koa ankasitraho, ry mpanjaka, izao torohevitro izao: onero amin' ny fahamarinana, ny fahotanao; ary amin' ny fiantrana ny mahantra ny helokao; ndrao mba maharitra ahay ny fiadananao.

C' est pourquoi, ô roi, agrée mon conseil : romps tes péchés par les oeuvres de justice, et tes iniquités en faisant miséricorde aux pauvres, afin d' avoir longue sécurité."

That they shall drive thee from men, and thy dwelling shall be with the beasts of the field, and they shall make thee to eat grass as oxen, and they shall wet thee with the dew of heaven, and seven times shall pass over thee, till thou know that the most High ruleth in the kingdom of men, and giveth it to whomsoever he will.

And whereas they commanded to leave the stump of the tree roots; thy kingdom shall be sure unto thee, after that thou shalt have known that the heavens do rule.

Wherefore, O king, let my counsel be acceptable unto thee, and break off thy sins by righteousness, and thine iniquities by shewing mercy to the poor; if it may be a lengthening of thy tranquillity.

le roi disait : "N' est-ce pas là cette grande Babylone que j' ai bâtie, pour en faire ma résidence royale, par la force de ma puissance et pour la majesté de ma gloire?"

All this came upon the king Nebuchadnezzar.

Ces paroles étaient encore dans sa bouche, quand une voix tomba du ciel "C' est à toi qu' il est parlé, ô roi Nabuchodonosor! la royauté s' est retirée de toi,

At the end of twelve months he walked in the palace of the kingdom of Babylon.

Fa horoahina hiala amin' ny olona ianao, ka ho any amin' ny bibi-dia ny fonenanao; hampihinanina ahitra toy ny omby ianao, ary fetr' andro fito no holanina aminao ambara-pahafantatrao fa ny Avo Indrindra no manapaka amin' ny fanjakan' ny olona ka manome izany ho an' izay tiany.

Horoahina hiala amin' ny olombelona hianao, ho any amin' ny biby any an-tsaha ny fonenanao; hampihinanina ahitra hoatra ny omby hianao, mandra-pahafantatrao fa ny Avo Indrindra no mizaka ny fanjakan' ny olombelona, sy manome izany ho an' izay tiany.

d' entre les hommes tu seras chassé, avec les bêtes des champs sera ta demeure, d' herbe, comme les boeufs, tu te nourriras, et sept temps passeront sur toi, jusqu'à ce que tu aies appris que le Très-Haut a domaine sur le royaume des hommes et qu' il le donne à qui lui plaît."

The king spake, and said, Is not this great Babylon, that I have built for the house of the kingdom by the might of my power, and for the honour of my majesty?

Tamin' izay indrindra no nahatanterahan' izany tamin' i Nebokadnezara; fa noroahina niala tamin' ny olona izy ka nihinana ahitra toy ny omby, ary ny tenany dia kotsan' ny andon' ny lanitra ambara-panirin' ny volony ho toy ny an' ny voromahery, ary ny hohony ho toy ny an' ny vorona.

Et aussitôt, la parole s' accomplit en Nabuchodonosor : il fut chassé d' entre les hommes; comme les boeufs, il mangea de l' herbe, son corps fut baigné de la rosée du ciel, et ses cheveux poussèrent comme des plumes d' aigle et ses ongles comme des griffes d' oiseau.

While the word was in the king' s mouth, there fell a voice from heaven, saying, O king Nebuchadnezzar, to thee it is spoken; The kingdom is departed from thee.

Nisaotra ny Avo Indrindra aho ary noderaiko sy nomeko voninahitra Ilay velona mandrakizay, manana fanapahana tena fanapahana mandrakizay; ary manana fanjakana maharitra amin' ny taranaka mifandimby.

"Au temps fixé, moi, Nabuchodonosor, je levai les yeux vers le ciel : l' intelligence me revint; alors je bénis le Très-Haut, louant et glorifiant Celui qui vit à jamais son empire est un empire éternel, son royaume, pour toutes les générations.

And they shall drive thee from men, and thy dwelling shall be with the beasts of the field: they shall make thee to eat grass as oxen, and seven times shall pass over thee, until thou know that the most High ruleth in the kingdom of men, and giveth it to whomsoever he will.

Atao ho tsinontsinona eo anatrehany ny mponina rehetra eto an-tany; manao izay tiany amin' ny tafiky ny lanitra, sy amin' ny mponina eto an-tany izy; tsy misy olona mahavely ny tànany, ka hanao aminy hoe: Fa inona ity ataonao?

Tous les habitants de la terre, c' est comme s' ils ne comptaient pas, selon son bon plaisir, il agit avec l' armée du ciel et avec les habitants de la terre. Nul ne peut arrêter sa main ou lui dire : Qu' as-tu fait là?

The same hour was the thing fulfilled upon Nebuchadnezzar: and he was driven from men, and did eat grass as oxen, and his body was wet with the dew of heaven, till his hairs were grown like eagles' feathers, and his nails like birds' claws.

Tamin' izay dia nody tamiko ny saiko, ary nody tamiko koa ny fahalehibiazako sy ny voninahitro ho tabihan' ny fanjakako, ary ny mpanolotsaiko sy ny andriandahiko nikatsaka ahy, ka nampitoerina teo amin' ny fanjakako aho, sady nanampy ho ahy ny fahalehibiazana malaza.

Tamin' izay fotoana izay ihany dia nody tamiko ny saiko, dia niverina tamiko koa ny fiandrianako amam-pamirapiratako ho voninahitry ny fanjakako; nantsoin' ny mpanolo-tsaina amam-pifehiko aho, ka tafapetraka amin' ny fanjakako indray, ary nitombo aza ny fahefako.

A cet instant, l' intelligence me revint, et pour l' honneur de ma royauté me revinrent gloire et splendeur; mes conseillers et mes grands me réclamèrent, je fus rétabli dans ma royauté, et ma grandeur fut accrue.

And at the end of the days I Nebuchadnezzar lifted up mine eyes unto heaven, and mine understanding returned unto me, and I blessed the most High, and I praised and honoured him that liveth for ever, whose dominion is an everlasting dominion, and his kingdom is from generation to generation:

Koa amin' izany, izaho Nebokadnezara midera sy manandratra ary mankalaza ny Mpanjakan' ny lanitra; marina avokoa ny asany rehetra, ary araka ny rariny ny lalany; ary izay mandeha amin' ny fiavonavonana dia hainy aetry.

Ankehitriny aho, izaho Nabokodonozora, dia midera, mankalaza, manome voninahitra ny mpanjakan' ny lanitra; marina avokoa ny asany, mahitsy ny làlany, ary hainy aetry izay mandeha amim-piavonavonana.

A présent, moi, Nabuchodonosor, je loue, exalte et glorifie le Roi du Ciel, dont toutes les oeuvres sont vérité, toutes les voies justice, et qui sait abaisser ceux qui marchent dans l' orgueil."

And all the inhabitants of the earth are reputed as nothing: and he doeth according to his will in the army of heaven, and among the inhabitants of the earth: and none can stay his hand, or say unto him, What doest thou?

At the same time my reason returned unto me; and for the glory of my kingdom, mine honour and brightness returned unto me; and my counsellors and my lords sought unto me; and I was established in my kingdom, and excellent majesty was added unto me.

Now I Nebuchadnezzar praise and extol and honour the King of heaven, all whose works are truth, and his ways judgment: and those that walk in pride he is able to abase.
