But it came to pass, that when Sanballat heard that we builded the wall, he was wroth, and took great indignation, and mocked the Jews.

Lorsque Sânballat, Tobiyya, les Arabes, les Ammonites et les Ashdodites apprirent que les réparations du rempart de Jérusalem avançaient que les brèches commençaient à être comblées , ils se mirent fort en colère;

And he spake before his brethren and the army of Samaria, and said, What do these feeble Jews? will they fortify themselves? will they sacrifice? will they make an end in a day? will they revive the stones out of the heaps of the rubbish which are burned?

Now Tobiah the Ammonite was by him, and he said, Even that which they build, if a fox go up, he shall even break down their stone wall.

Dia nivavaka tamin' Andriamanitray izahay, sady nametraka mpiambina andro aman' alina, hanohitra azy sy hiaro-tena aminy mba hisorohanay ny famelezany.

Nous invoquâmes alors notre Dieu et, pour protéger la ville, nous établîmes contre eux une garde de jour et de nuit.

Neh / Ne 4:4

Hear, O our God; for we are despised: and turn their reproach upon their own head, and give them for a prey in the land of captivity:

Ary hoy ny Joda: Mihena ny herin' ny mpitondra entana, ary be ny korontam-bato sy ny tany; ka dia tsy maharafitra ny manda izahay.

Hoy anefa Jodà: Tsy ampy hery ny mpitondra entana fa be ny korontan-javatra, ka tsy haharafitra ny manda izahay.

Juda disait néanmoins : "Les forces des porteurs fléchissent, il y a trop de décombres : nous n' arriverons jamais à relever le rempart!"

Neh / Ne 4:5

And cover not their iniquity, and let not their sin be blotted out from before thee: for they have provoked thee to anger before the builders.

Ary hoy kosa ny fahavalonay: Tsy hahalala izy, na hahita, raha tsy tonga eo afovoany isika ka mahafaty azy ary mampitsahatra ny asa.

Ny fahavalonay koa nanao hoe: Tsy hahalala ireo na hahita, raha tsy efa tonga eo afovoany isika, ka dia hamono azy sy hampitsahatra ny asa.

Et nos ennemis déclaraient "Avant qu' ils ne sachent et ne voient rien, nous surgirons au milieu d' eux : alors nous les massacrerons et mettrons fin à l' entreprise!"

So built we the wall; and all the wall was joined together unto the half thereof: for the people had a mind to work.

Or il arrivait des Juifs qui habitaient près d' eux et qui dix fois nous avertirent : "Ils montent contre nous de toutes les localités qu' ils habitent!"

But it came to pass, that when Sanballat, and Tobiah, and the Arabians, and the Ammonites, and the Ashdodites, heard that the walls of Jerusalem were made up, and that the breaches began to be stopped, then they were very wroth,

dia nasiako olona teo amin' ny fitoerana ambany, teo ivelan' ny manda sy teo an-karihary; eny, nalahatro ny olona araka ny fokony avy, samy nitàna sabatra sy lefona ary tsipìka.

Ka dia natokotokoko ara-pianakaviana ny vahoaka, samy nitondra ny sabany sy ny lefony aman-tsipìkany, ho any ivohon' ny manda, amin' ny ilany iva indrindra, amin' ny toerana tsy misy manakontakona.

On se posta donc en contrebas, dans l' espace derrière le rempart, aux endroits découverts; je disposai le peuple par familles, avec ses épées, ses lances et ses arcs.

And conspired all of them together to come and to fight against Jerusalem, and to hinder it.

Dia nijery aho sady nitsangana ka nilaza tamin' ny manan-kaja sy ny mpanapaka mbamin' ny vahoaka sisa hoe: Aza matahotra azy ianareo; ny Tompo lehibe sy mahatahotra no tsarovy, ka miadia hiaro ny rahalahinareo sy ny zanakareo-lahy sy ny zanakareo-vavy sy ny vadinareo ary ny tranonareo.

Nony nijery aho, dia nitsangana nilaza izao tamin' ny lehibe sy ny andriambaventy ary ny vahoaka sisa hoe: Aza matahotra eo anatrehan' ireny hianareo! Fa ny Tompo lehibe sy mahatahotra no tsarovy; ary miadia hiaro ny rahalahinareo sy ny zanakareo lahy aman-janakareo vavy ary ny vadinareo sy ny ankohonanareo.

Voyant leur peur, je me levai et fis aux grands, aux magistrats et au reste du peuple cette déclaration : "Ne craignez pas ces gens! Pensez au Seigneur, grand et redoutable, et combattez pour vos frères, vos fils, vos filles, vos femmes et vos maisons!

Nevertheless we made our prayer unto our God, and set a watch against them day and night, because of them.

Quand nos ennemis apprirent que nous étions renseignés et que Dieu avait déjoué plan, ils se retirèrent et nous retournâmes tous au rempart, chacun à son travail.

And Judah said, The strength of the bearers of burdens is decayed, and there is much rubbish; so that we are not able to build the wall.

Mais, à partir de ce jour, la moitié seulement de mes hommes participaient au travail, les autres, munis de lances, de boucliers, d' arcs et de cuirasses, se tenaient derrière toute la maison de Juda

And our adversaries said, They shall not know, neither see, till we come in the midst among them, and slay them, and cause the work to cease.

qui bâtissait le rempart. Les porteurs aussi étaient armés d' une main chacun assurait son travail, l' autre main serrant un javelot.

And it came to pass, that when the Jews which dwelt by them came, they said unto us ten times, From all places whence ye shall return unto us they will be upon you.

Therefore set I in the lower places behind the wall, and on the higher places, I even set the people after their families with their swords, their spears, and their bows.

Ary hoy izaho tamin' ny manan-kaja sy ny mpanapaka ary ny vahoaka sisa: Be sady malalaka ny asa, ka dia misaratsaraka eny ambonin' ny manda isika ka mifanalavitra.

Dia hoy aho tamin' ny lehibe sy ny andriambaventy ary ny vahoaka sisa: Lehibe ity ny asa, sady amin' ny tany malalaka; ka tafaely eny amin' ny manda sy tafasaraka be ihany isika rehetra.

Je dis aux grands, aux magistrats et au reste du peuple : "Le chantier est important et étendu et nous sommes dispersés sur le rempart, loin les uns des autres

And I looked, and rose up, and said unto the nobles, and to the rulers, and to the rest of the people, Be not ye afraid of them: remember the Lord, which is great and terrible, and fight for your brethren, your sons, and your daughters, your wives, and your houses.

And it came to pass, when our enemies heard that it was known unto us, and God had brought their counsel to nought, that we returned all of us to the wall, every one unto his work.

Dia nanao ny asa izahay, ary ny antsasany kosa nitan-defona hatramin' ny mazavaratsy ka mandra-piposaky ny kintana.

Dia nanao ny asa izahay; ny antsasany taminay nitan-defona hatramin' ny mazava atsinanana ka mandra-piposaky ny kintana.

Ainsi menions-nous le travail depuis le lever de l' aurore jusqu'à l' apparition des étoiles.

Neh / Ne 4:16

And it came to pass from that time forth, that the half of my servants wrought in the work, and the other half of them held both the spears, the shields, and the bows, and the habergeons; and the rulers were behind all the house of Judah.

Ary tamin' izany andro izany dia hoy koa aho tamin' ny olona: Samia mitoetra ato Jerosalema ianareo mbamin' ny zatovonareo, mba hiambina antsika raha alina ireo ary hiasa raha antoandro.

Tamin' izany andro izany, hoy koa aho tamin' ny vahoaka: Samia mandry eto Jerosalema, miaraka amin' ny mpanompony avy, mba hiambina antsika mandritra ny alina, sy hiasa mandritra ny andro.

En ce temps-là, je dis encore au peuple : "Chacun, avec son serviteur, devra passer la nuit à Jérusalem : de la sorte, nous utiliserons la nuit pour la surveillance et le jour pour le travail."

Neh / Ne 4:17

They which builded on the wall, and they that bare burdens, with those that laded, every one with one of his hands wrought in the work, and with the other hand held a weapon.

Fa izaho sy ny rahalahiko mbamin' ny zatovoko sy ny mpiambina, izay nanaraka ahy, dia samy tsy niala akanjo, sady tsy nisy nandro akory.

Fa na izaho, na ireo rahalahiko, na ny oloko, na ny mpiambina nanaraka ahy, dia tsy nisy niala akanjo; handro tokana matoa nanala azy.

Mais ni moi, ni mes frères, ni mes gens, ni les hommes de garde qui me suivaient ne quittions nos vêtements; chacun gardait son javelot à sa droite.

For the builders, every one had his sword girded by his side, and so builded. And he that sounded the trumpet was by me.

And I said unto the nobles, and to the rulers, and to the rest of the people, The work is great and large, and we are separated upon the wall, one far from another.

In what place therefore ye hear the sound of the trumpet, resort ye thither unto us: our God shall fight for us.

Neh / Ne 4:21

So we laboured in the work: and half of them held the spears from the rising of the morning till the stars appeared.

Likewise at the same time said I unto the people, Let every one with his servant lodge within Jerusalem, that in the night they may be a guard to us, and labour on the day.

Neh / Ne 4:23

So neither I, nor my brethren, nor my servants, nor the men of the guard which followed me, none of us put off our clothes, saving that every one put them off for washing.
