And Jehoshaphat his son reigned in his stead, and strengthened himself against Israel.

Son fils Josaphat régna à sa place et affermit son pouvoir sur Israël.

And he placed forces in all the fenced cities of Judah, and set garrisons in the land of Judah, and in the cities of Ephraim, which Asa his father had taken.

Il mit des troupes dans toutes les villes fortifiées de Juda et établit des préfets dans le pays de Juda et dans les villes d'Éphraïm qu' avait conquises Asa, son père.

And the Lord was with Jehoshaphat, because he walked in the first ways of his father David, and sought not unto Baalim;

Yahvé fut avec Josaphat, car sa conduite fut celle qu' avait d' abord suivie son père et il ne rechercha pas les Baals.

But sought to the Lord God of his father, and walked in his commandments, and not after the doings of Israel.

fa Jehovah, Andriamanitry ny rainy, kosa no notadiaviny, ary araka ny didiny no nalehany, fa tsy mba araka ny fanaon' ny Isiraely.

fa Andriamanitry ny rainy no nokatsahiny, ary narahiny ny didiny fa tsy naka tahaka ny nataon' Israely.

C' est bien le Dieu de son père qu' il rechercha, et il marcha selon ses commandements sans imiter les actions d' Israël.

Therefore the Lord stablished the kingdom in his hand; and all Judah brought to Jehoshaphat presents; and he had riches and honour in abundance.

Koa dia nampitoerin' i Jehovah teo an-tànany ny fanjakana; ary ny Joda rehetra nitondra fanomezana ho an' i Josafata, ka dia nanana harena sy voninahitra be izy.

Koa nohamafisin' ny Tompo teo an-tànany ny fanjakana ary nitondran' i Jodà rehetra fanatitra Josafata, ka nanan-karena amam-boninahitra be.

Yahvé maintint le royaume entre ses mains; tous les Judéens payaient tribut à Josaphat, si bien qu' il eut beaucoup de richesses et d' honneur.

And his heart was lifted up in the ways of the Lord: moreover he took away the high places and groves out of Judah.

Ary ny fony nihanatoky tamin' ny lalan' i Jehovah. dia noravany tsy ho eo amin' ny Joda ny fitoerana avo sy ny Aseraha.

Nitombo ny herim-pony teo amin' ny làlan' ny Tompo, ka noravany koa ny fitoerana avo mbamin' ny aserah teo amin' i Jodà.

Son coeur progressa dans les voies de Yahvé et il supprima de nouveau en Juda les hauts lieux et les ashéras.

Also in the third year of his reign he sent to his princes, even to Benhail, and to Obadiah, and to Zechariah, and to Nethaneel, and to Michaiah, to teach in the cities of Judah.

Tamin' ny taona fahatelo nanjakany, nirahiny hampianatra tany amin' ny tanànan' i Jodà, ireto lehibe ireto: Bena-Haila, Obdiasa, Zakariasa, Natanaela ary Mikeasa,

La troisième année de son règne, il envoya ses officiers : Ben-Hayil, Obadya, Zekarya, Netanéel, Mikayahu, instruire les cités judéennes.

And with them he sent Levites, even Shemaiah, and Nethaniah, and Zebadiah, and Asahel, and Shemiramoth, and Jehonathan, and Adonijah, and Tobijah, and Tobadonijah, Levites; and with them Elishama and Jehoram, priests.

Des lévites les accompagnaient : Shemayahu, Netanyahu, Zebadyahu, Asahel, Shemiramot, Yehonatân, Adoniyyahu, Tobiyyahu, lévites, ainsi que les prêtres Élishama et Yehoram.

And they taught in Judah, and had the book of the law of the Lord with them, and went about throughout all the cities of Judah, and taught the people.

Nampianatra tao amin' i Jodà ireo, nitondra ny bokin' ny lalàn' ny Tompo; nitety ny tanànan' i Jodà rehetra, ary nampianatra teny amin' ny vahoaka.

Ils se mirent à enseigner en Juda, munis du livre de la Loi de Yahvé, et firent le tour des cités judéennes, en instruisant le peuple.

And the fear of the Lord fell upon all the kingdoms of the lands that were round about Judah, so that they made no war against Jehoshaphat.

Azon' ny tahotra an' ny Tompo ny fanjakana rehetra tamin' ny tany manodidina an' i Jodà, ka tsy niady tamin' i Josafata izy ireo.

La terreur de Yahvé s'étendit sur tous les royaumes des pays qui entouraient Juda; ils ne firent pas la guerre à Josaphat.

Also some of the Philistines brought Jehoshaphat presents, and tribute silver; and the Arabians brought him flocks, seven thousand and seven hundred rams, and seven thousand and seven hundred he goats.

Ary ny Filistina sasany nitondra fanomezana sy vola hetra ho an' i Josafata; ary ny Arabo koa nitondra ondry aman' osy, dia ondrilahy fiton-jato amby fito arivo sy osilahy fiton-jato amby fito arivo.

Des Philistins lui apportèrent en tribut des présents et de l' argent; les Arabes eux-mêmes lui amenèrent du petit bétail : sept mille sept cents béliers et sept mille sept cents boucs.

And Jehoshaphat waxed great exceedingly; and he built in Judah castles, and cities of store.

Efa nandroso amin' izay hampisondrotra azy ho amin' ny voninahitra ambony indrindra Josafata. Nanao trano mimanda sy tanàna fitehirizana teo amin' i Jodà izy.

Josaphat grandissant allait au plus haut; il édifia en Juda des citadelles et des villes-entrepôts.

And he had much business in the cities of Judah: and the men of war, mighty men of valour, were in Jerusalem.

Ary nanana fananana betsaka tao amin' ny tanànan' ny Joda koa sy miaramila, lehilahy mahery, tany Jerosalema izy.

Nanana zavatra fitahiry betsaka izy teny amin' ny tanànan' i Jodà, ary miaramila mpiady, lehilahy mahery, tao Jerosalema.

Il eut d' importants services dans les cités judéennes et des guerriers, des vaillants preux, à Jérusalem.

And these are the numbers of them according to the house of their fathers: Of Judah, the captains of thousands; Adnah the chief, and with him mighty men of valour three hundred thousand.

En voici la répartition par familles : Pour Juda : officiers de milliers : Adna l' officier, avec 300 milliers de vaillants preux;

And next to him was Jehohanan the captain, and with him two hundred and fourscore thousand.

And of Benjamin; Eliada a mighty man of valour, and with him armed men with bow and shield two hundred thousand.

And next him was Jehozabad, and with him an hundred and fourscore thousand ready prepared for the war.

These waited on the king, beside those whom the king put in the fenced cities throughout all Judah.

Tels étaient ceux qui servaient le roi, sans compter les hommes qu' il avait mis dans les places fortes de tout Juda.
