And the sons of the prophets said unto Elisha, Behold now, the place where we dwell with thee is too strait for us.

Les frères prophètes dirent à Elisée : "Voici que l' endroit où nous habitons près de toi est trop étroit pour nous.

2Mp 6:2

Let us go, we pray thee, unto Jordan, and take thence every man a beam, and let us make us a place there, where we may dwell. And he answered, Go ye.

Masìna ianao, aoka hankany Jordana izahay, ka samy haka hazo iray avy any, dia hanao trano ho anay any mba hitoeranay. Ary hoy izy: mandehana ary ianareo.

Allons donc jusqu' au Jourdain; nous y prendrons chacun une poutre et nous nous ferons là une demeure." Il répondit "Allez."

2Mp 6:3

And one said, Be content, I pray thee, and go with thy servants. And he answered, I will go.

Fa hoy ny anankiray: Masìna ianao, aoka mba hiaraka amin' ny mpanomponao ho any koa ianao. Ary izy namaly hoe: Handeha ihany aho.

Fa hoy kosa ny anankiray tamin' izy ireo: Aoka mba hiaraka amin' ny mpanomponao koa hianao. Ary namaly izy hoe: Handeha aho; ka dia lasa niaraka taminy izy.

L' un d' eux dit : "Consens à accompagner tes serviteurs", et il répondit : "J' irai";

2Mp 6:4

So he went with them. And when they came to Jordan, they cut down wood.

Ka dia niaraka taminy izy. Ary nony tonga tany Jordana ireo, dia nikapa hazo.

Nony tonga tany Jordany izy ireo, dia nikapa hazo.

il partit avec eux. Arrivés au Jourdain, ils coupèrent le bois.

2Mp 6:5

But as one was felling a beam, the axe head fell into the water: and he cried, and said, Alas, master! for it was borrowed.

Fa nony nikapa hazo ny anankiray, dia latsaka tany anaty rano ny lela-famaky; ka dia nitaraina hoe izy: Indrisy, tompoko, nindramina iny.

Kanjo latsaka tany anaty rano ny lela famakin' ny anankiray tamin' izy ireo, tamin' ny nikapany sakamandimby ka nikiaka indray niantso izy nanao hoe: Indrisy, tompoko! sady zavatra nindramina iny.

Or, comme l' un deux abattait sa poutre, la lame de fer tomba dans l' eau, et il s'écria : "Hélas, Monseigneur! Et encore elle était empruntée!"

2Mp 6:6

And the man of God said, Where fell it? And he shewed him the place. And he cut down a stick, and cast it in thither; and the iron did swim.

Ary hoy ny lehilahin' Andriamanitra: Taiza no nahalatsahany? Dia natorony azy izay nahalatsahany. Ary Elisa nanapaka hazo, ka natsipiny teo, dia nitsinkafona ilay lela-famaky.

Ary hoy ity olon' Andriamanitra: Taiza no nahalatsahany? Dia natorony azy ny toerana. Ka nanapaka tapa-kazo iray Elisea natsipiny tamin' io toerana io, dia nitsinkafona ilay lela famaky.

Mais l' homme de Dieu lui demanda : "Où est-elle tombée?" Et l' autre lui montra la place. Alors il cassa un bout de bois, le jeta à cet endroit et fit flotter le fer.

Therefore said he, Take it up to thee. And he put out his hand, and took it.

Ary hoy izy: Indro, raisonao izy. Dia narosony ny tànany, ka noraisiny.

Ary hoy izy: Raisonao izy. Dia natsotrany ny tànany ka noraisiny.

Il dit : "Retire-le", et l' homme étendit la main et le prit.

2Mp 6:8

Then the king of Syria warred against Israel, and took counsel with his servants, saying, In such and such a place shall be my camp.

Ary ny mpanjakan' i Syria niady tamin' ny Isiraely ka nilaza tamin' ny mpanompony hoe: Any Anonana no hitobiako.

Niady tamin' Israely ny mpanjakan' i Siria. Nivory nidinika tamin' ny mpanompony izy ka niteny hoe: Any Ananona sy Ananona no hitobiako.

Le roi d' Aram était en guerre avec Israël. Il tint conseil avec ses officiers et dit : "Vous ferez une descente contre telle place."

2Mp 6:9

And the man of God sent unto the king of Israel, saying, Beware that thou pass not such a place; for thither the Syrians are come down.

Ary ilay lehilahin' Andriamanitra kosa naniraka tany amin' ny mpanjakan' ny Isiraely nanao hoe: Tandremo fandrao mankany Ananona ianao; fa any no hidinan' ny Syriana.

Elisée envoya dire au roi d' Israël : "Sois sur tes gardes pour cette place, car les Araméens y descendent",

2Mp 6:10

And the king of Israel sent to the place which the man of God told him and warned him of, and saved himself there, not once nor twice.

Ary ny mpanjakan' ny Isiraely naniraka tany amin' izay nolazain' ny lehilahin' Andriamanitra taminy sy nananarany azy, ka nampiambina tany tsy indray mandeha, na indroa aza.

Dia naniraka olona ho any amin' ny toerana voalazany sy natoron' ny olon' Andriamanitra ny mpanjakan' Israely, ka niambina tsara teny, tsy indray mandeha, na indroa ihany.

et le roi d' Israël envoya des hommes à la place qu' Elisée lui avait dite. Il l' avertissait et le roi se tenait sur ses gardes, et cela pas rien qu' une ou deux fois.

2Mp 6:11

Therefore the heart of the king of Syria was sore troubled for this thing; and he called his servants, and said unto them, Will ye not shew me which of us is for the king of Israel?

Dia sosotra indrindra ny fon' ny mpanjakan' i Syria noho izany zavatra izany; koa niantso ny mpanompony izy ary nanao taminy hoe: Tsy hambaranareo ahy va izay eto amintsika momba ny mpanjakan' ny Isiraely?

Nahavelon' ahiahy ny fon' ny mpanjakan' i Siria izany fihetsi-miaramila izany, ka niantso ny mpanompony izy, sy nilaza tamin' izy ireo hoe: Tsy tianareo hambara amiko va izay momba ny mpanjakan' Israely eto amintsika?

Le coeur du roi d' Aram fut troublé par cette affaire, il convoqua ses officiers et leur demanda : "Ne m' apprendrez-vous pas qui nous trahit auprès du roi d' Israël?"

2Mp 6:12

And one of his servants said, None, my lord, O king: but Elisha, the prophet that is in Israel, telleth the king of Israel the words that thou speakest in thy bedchamber.

Ary hoy ny mpanompony anankiray: Tsy misy, ry mpanjaka tompoko; fa Elisa mpaminany ao amin' ny Isiraely ihany no milaza amin' ny mpanjakan' ny Isiraely na dia izay teny lazainao ao amin' ny trano fandrianao aza.

L' un de ses officiers répondit : "Non, Monseigneur le roi; c' est Elisée, le prophète d' Israël, qui révèle au roi d' Israël les paroles que tu prononces dans ta chambre à coucher."

2Mp 6:13

And he said, Go and spy where he is, that I may send and fetch him. And it was told him, saying, Behold, he is in Dothan.

Ary hoy ny mpanjaka: Andeha, izahao izay itoerany mba hanirahako hisambotra azy. Ary nolazaina taminy hoe: Indro, ao Dotana izy.

Ka hoy ny mpanjaka: Mandehana zahao izay itoerany, hanirahako hisambotra azy. Dia nisy nilaza taminy hoe: Indro izy, any Dotana.

Il dit : "Allez, voyez où il est, et j' enverrai le saisir." On lui fit ce rapport : "Voici qu' il est à Dotân."

Therefore sent he thither horses, and chariots, and a great host: and they came by night, and compassed the city about.

Ary dia nampandeha soavaly sy kalesy ary miaramila be ho any izy; ka tonga alina ireo ary nanodidina ny tanàna.

Koa nandefa soavaly aman-kalesy ary miaramila betsaka, antokony iray, ho any izy; dia tonga alina tany ireo, ka notemerany ny tanàna.

Alors le roi envoya là-bas des chevaux, des chars et une forte troupe, qui arrivèrent de nuit et cernèrent la ville.

2Mp 6:15

And when the servant of the man of God was risen early, and gone forth, behold, an host compassed the city both with horses and chariots. And his servant said unto him, Alas, my master! how shall we do?

Ary rehefa nifoha maraina koa ny zatovon' ny lehilahin' Andriamanitra ka nivoaka, dia, indreo, nisy miaramila sy soavaly ary kalesy manodidina ny tanàna. Dia hoy ilay zatovo taminy: Indrisy, tompoko! Ahoana no hataontsika?

Nifoha maraina koa kosa ny mpanompon' ny olon' Andriamanitra, ka nivoaka, ka indro antoko-miaramila anankiray manodidina ny tanàna omban-tsoavaly aman-kalesy. Ary hoy ilay mpanompo tamin' i Elisea hoe: Indrisy tompoko, ahoana no hataontsika?

Le lendemain, Elisée se leva de bon matin et sortit. Et voilà qu' une troupe entourait la ville avec des chevaux et des chars! Son serviteur lui dit : "Ah! Monseigneur, comment allons-nous faire?"

2Mp 6:16

And he answered, Fear not: for they that be with us are more than they that be with them.

Ary hoy Elisa: Aza matahotra; fa ny momba antsika dia be noho ny momba azy.

Fa hoy ny navaliny: Aza matahotra na inona na inona, fa be noho ny momba azy ny momba antsika.

Mais il répondit : "N' aie pas peur, car il y en a plus avec nous qu' avec eux."

2Mp 6:17

And Elisha prayed, and said, Lord, I pray thee, open his eyes, that he may see. And the Lord opened the eyes of the young man; and he saw: and, behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire round about Elisha.

Ary Elisa nivavaka hoe: Jehovah ô, mifona aminao aho, ampahirato ny masony mba hahitany. Ary Jehovah nampahiratra ny mason' ilay zatovo; ary dia nahita izy, ka, indro, ny tendrombohitra feno soavaly sy kalesy afo manodidina an' i Elisa.

Sady nivavaka Elisea nanao hoe: Iaveh ô, sokafy ny masony, mba hahitany. Ary nosokafan' ny Tompo ny mason' ilay mpanompo, ka nahita izy, ary indro feno soavaly aman-kalesy afo, manodidina an' i Elisea, ny tendrombohitra.

Et Elisée fit cette prière : "Yahvé, daigne ouvrir ses yeux pour qu' il voie!" Yahvé ouvrit les yeux du serviteur et il vit : voilà que la montagne était couverte de chevaux et de chars de feu autour d' Elisée!

2Mp 6:18

And when they came down to him, Elisha prayed unto the Lord, and said, Smite this people, I pray thee, with blindness. And he smote them with blindness according to the word of Elisha.

Dia nidina nankany aminy ireo, ary Elisa nivavaka tamin' i Jehovah ka nanao hoe: Mifona aminao aho, ataovy manjambena ireto olona ireto. Ary dia nataony manjambena ireo araka ny tenin' i Elisa.

Nony nirotsaka ho eo amin' ity olon' Andriamanitra ny Siriana, nivavaka tamin' ny Tompo kosa Elisea nanao hoe: Raha sitrakao, asio fanjambana io firenena io. Dia nasian' ny Tompo fanjambana ireo, araka ny tenin' i Elisea.

Comme les Araméens descendaient vers lui, Elisée pria ainsi Yahvé : "Daigne frapper ces gens de berlue", et il les frappa de berlue, selon la parole d' Elisée.

2Mp 6:19

And Elisha said unto them, This is not the way, neither is this the city: follow me, and I will bring you to the man whom ye seek. But he led them to Samaria.

Ary hoy Elisa taminy: Tsy ity no lalana, ary tsy ity no tanàna; fa manaraha ahy ianareo, dia hitondra anareo ho any amin' ny lehilahy tadiavinareo aho. Dia nentiny nankany Samaria ireo.

Ka hoy Elisea taminy: Tsy ity no làlana, ary tsy ity no tanàna, fa izaho arahina, dia hitarika anareo ho any amin' ny lehilahy tadiavinareo. Ary tany Samaria no nitarihany azy ireo,

Alors Elisée leur dit : "Ce n' est pas le chemin, et ce n' est pas la ville. Suivez-moi, je vous conduirai vers l' homme que vous cherchez." Mais il les conduisit à Samarie.

2Mp 6:20

And it came to pass, when they were come into Samaria, that Elisha said, Lord, open the eyes of these men, that they may see. And the Lord opened their eyes, and they saw; and, behold, they were in the midst of Samaria.

Ary rehefa tonga tany Samaria izy ireo, dia hoy Elisa: Jehovah ô, ampahirato ny mason' ireto mba hahitany. Ary Jehovah nampahiratra ny masony, dia nahita izy; ka, indro, tao afovoan' i Samaria izy.

A leur entrée dans Samarie, Elisée dit : "Yahvé ouvre les yeux de ces gens et qu' ils voient." Yahvé ouvrit leurs yeux et ils virent : voilà qu' ils étaient au milieu de Samarie!

2Mp 6:21

And the king of Israel said unto Elisha, when he saw them, My father, shall I smite them? shall I smite them?

Ary nony nahita azy ny mpanjakan' ny Isiraely, dia hoy izy tamin' i Elisa: Ry ikaky ô, hasiako va izy? Hasiako va izy?

Nony nahita azy ireo kosa ny mpanjakan' Israely, dia nilaza tamin' i Elisea hoe: Hasiako amin' izao ve, hasiako amin' izao ve, ry ikaky ô?

Le roi d' Israël, en les voyant, dit à Elisée : "Faut-il les tuer, mon père?"

2Mp 6:22

And he answered, Thou shalt not smite them: wouldest thou smite those whom thou hast taken captive with thy sword and with thy bow? set bread and water before them, that they may eat and drink, and go to their master.

Fa izy namaly hoe: Aza asianao izy; moa asianao izay nobaboinao tamin' ny sabatrao sy ny tsipìkanao? Rosoy mofo sy rano eo anoloany mba hohaniny sy hosotroiny ary handehanany any amin' ny tompony.

Fa namaly Elisea hoe: Aza mamely. Izay azonao babo tamin' ny sabatra aman-tsipìkanao no asio, fa ireto kosa rosoy mofo sy rano hohaniny sy hosotroiny, dia aoka izy handeha ho any amin' ny tompony.

Mais il répondit : "Ne les tue pas. Ceux même que ton épée et ton arc ont fait captifs, les mets-tu à mort? Offre-leur du pain et de l' eau pour qu' ils mangent et qu' ils boivent, et qu' ils aillent chez leur maître."

2Mp 6:23

And he prepared great provision for them: and when they had eaten and drunk, he sent them away, and they went to their master. So the bands of Syria came no more into the land of Israel.

Dia nanao fanasana lehibe ho azy ny mpanjaka; ary rehefa nihinana sy nisotro ireo, dia nampandehaniny, ary dia nankany amin' ny tompony izy. Koa dia tsy nankany amin' ny tanin' ny Isiraely intsony ny mpitoha adin' i Syria.

Koa nasain' ny mpanjakan' Israely nanaovana fanasana lehibe izy ireo, dia nihinana sy nisotro, vao nalefany handeha ho any amin' ny tompony. Izay dia tsy niverina tamin' ny tanin' Israely intsony ny mpitoha ady Siriana.

Le roi leur servit un grand festin; après qu' ils eurent mangé et bu, il les congédia et ils partirent chez leur maître. Les bandes araméennes ne revinrent plus sur le territoire d' Israël.

2Mp 6:24

And it came to pass after this, that Benhadad king of Syria gathered all his host, and went up, and besieged Samaria.

Ary rehefa afaka izany, Beni-hadada, mpanjakan' i Syria, namory ny miaramilany rehetra, dia niakatra ka nanao fahirano an' i Samaria.

Il advint, après cela, que Ben-Hadad, roi d' Aram, rassembla toute son armée et vint mettre le siège devant Samarie.

2Mp 6:25

And there was a great famine in Samaria: and, behold, they besieged it, until an ass' s head was sold for fourscore pieces of silver, and the fourth part of a cab of dove' s dung for five pieces of silver.

Dia nisy mosary mafy tany Samaria; fa indro, nanao fahirano azy ireo mandra-pahatongan' ny loham-boriky ho lafo sekely valo-polo sy ny taim-boromailala ampahefatry ny kaba ho sekely dimy.

Il y eut une grande famine à Samarie et le siège fut si dur que la tête d'âne valait 80 sicles d' argent et le quarteron d' oignons sauvages cinq sicles d' argent.

2Mp 6:26

And as the king of Israel was passing by upon the wall, there cried a woman unto him, saying, Help, my lord, O king.

Ary raha nitsangantsangana teny ambonin' ny manda ny mpanjakan' ny Isiraely, dia nisy vehivavy nitaraina taminy hoe: Vonjeo aho, ry mpanjaka tompoko.

Nony nandalo teny ambonin' ny manda kosa ny mpanjakan' Israely, dia nisy vehivavy anankiray nitaraina taminy hoe: Vonjeo aho, ry mpanjaka tompoko ô!

Comme le roi passait sur le rempart, une femme lui cria : "Au secours, Monseigneur le roi!"

2Mp 6:27

And he said, If the Lord do not help thee, whence shall I help thee? out of the barnfloor, or out of the winepress?

Ary hoy ny mpanjaka: Raha tsy vonjen' i Jehovah ianao, aiza no hamonjeko anao? Amin' ny famoloana va, sa amin' ny famiazam-boaloboka?

Dia hoy izy: Raha Iaveh tsy mamonjy anao, amin' inona no azoko amonjena anao? Amin' ny vokatry ny famoloana sa amin' ny famiazam-boaloboka?

Il répondit : "Si Yahvé ne te secourt pas, d' où pourrais-je te secourir? Serait-ce de l' aire ou du pressoir?"

2Mp 6:28

And the king said unto her, What aileth thee? And she answered, This woman said unto me, Give thy son, that we may eat him to day, and we will eat my son to morrow.

Ary hoy koa ny mpanjaka taminy: Inona ary no alahelonao? Ary ravehivavy namaly hoe: Hoy ity vehivavy ity tamiko: Aiza ny zanakao hohanintsika anio, ary ny zanako kosa hohanintsika rahampitso.

Hoy koa ny mpanjaka taminy: Maninona hianao? Dia hoy ilay vehivavy: Ravehivavy ity no nanao tamiko hoe: Aiza ny zanakao hohanintsika anio, fa ny ahy kosa hohanintsika rahampitso.

Puis le roi lui dit : "Qu' as-tu?" Elle reprit : "Cette femme m' a dit : Donne ton fils, que nous le mangions aujourd' hui, et nous mangerons mon fils demain.

2Mp 6:29

So we boiled my son, and did eat him: and I said unto her on the next day, Give thy son, that we may eat him: and she hath hid her son.

Ka dia nandrahoinay ny zanako ka nohaninay; ary nony ampitso, dia hoy izaho taminy: Aiza kosa ny zanakao mba hohanintsika? kanjo nafeniny ny zanany.

Ary efa nandrahoinay sy nohaninay ny zanako. Nony ampitso anefa nilazako izy nataoko hoe: Aiza ny zanakao hohanintsika? Kanjo efa nafeniny ny zanany!

Nous avons fait cuire mon fils et nous l' avons mangé; le jour d' après, je lui ai dit : Donne ton fils, que nous le mangions, mais elle a caché son fils."

2Mp 6:30

And it came to pass, when the king heard the words of the woman, that he rent his clothes; and he passed by upon the wall, and the people looked, and, behold, he had sackcloth within upon his flesh.

Ary nony nandre ny tenin-dravehivavy ny mpanjaka, dia nandriatra ny fitafiany; ary nitsangantsangana teny ambonin' ny manda izy, ka hitan' ny olona fa, indro lamba fisaonana no nataony manolo-koditra.

Nony nandre ny tenin' io vehivavy io ny mpanjaka, dia nandrovitra ny fitafiany raha ilay nandalo teny ambony manda iny izy, ary hitan' ny vahoaka, ka indro ambanin' ny fitafiany, nitafy lasaka manolo-koditra azy izy.

Quand le roi entendit les paroles de cette femme, il déchira ses vêtements; le roi passait sur le rempart, et le peuple vit qu' en dessous, il portait le sac à même le corps.

2Mp 6:31

Then he said, God do so and more also to me, if the head of Elisha the son of Shaphat shall stand on him this day.

Dia hoy izy: Hataon' Andriamanitra amiko anie izany, eny, mihoatra noho izany aza, raha tsy hotapahina anio ny lohan' i Elisa, zanak' i Safata.

Ary hoy ny mpanjaka: Hataon' ny Tompo amin' izay ngidiny indrindra anie aho, raha tafajanona eo amin' ny tenany ihany anio ny lohan' i Elisea zanak' i Safata.

Il dit : "Que Dieu me fasse tel mal et y ajoute tel autre, si la tête d' Elisée fils de Shaphat lui reste aujourd' hui sur les épaules!"

2Mp 6:32

But Elisha sat in his house, and the elders sat with him; and the king sent a man from before him: but ere the messenger came to him, he said to the elders, See ye how this son of a murderer hath sent to take away mine head? look, when the messenger cometh, shut the door, and hold him fast at the door: is not the sound of his master' s feet behind him?

Tsy mbola tonga tao amin' i Elisea akory anefa ilay iraka, dia hoy ELisea tamin' ny loholona: Fantatrareo va fa naniraka olona hanala amiko ny lohako ilay zanaky ny mpamono olona iny? Tandremo, fa rahefa tonga ny iraka, dia akatony ny varavarana, tereo amin' ny varavarana izy. Injay re manaraka any aoriany koa ny fingadongadon' ny tongotry ny tompony.

Elisée était assis dans sa maison et les anciens étaient assis avec lui, et le roi se fit précéder par un messager. Mais avant que celui-ci n' arrivât jusqu'à lui, Elisée dit aux anciens : "Avez-vous vu que ce fils d' assassin a donné l' ordre qu' on m'ôte la tête!
