Vision d' Abdias. Sur Édom. J' ai reçu de Yahvé un message, un héraut était dépêché parmi les nations : "Debout ! Marchons contre ce peuple ! Au combat !" Ainsi parle le Seigneur Yahvé :

Behold, I have made thee small among the heathen: thou art greatly despised.

Indro hianao efa nataoko kely eo amin' ny firenena dia faniratsira indrindra.

Vois, je te rends petit parmi les peuples, tu es au plus bas du mépris !

The pride of thine heart hath deceived thee, thou that dwellest in the clefts of the rock, whose habitation is high; that saith in his heart, Who shall bring me down to the ground?

Ny avonavon' ny fonao no namitaka anao, Ry ilay monina ao an-tsefatsefaky ny harambato, Any amin' ny fonenana avo, Sady manao anakampo hoe: Iza no hampivarina ahy ho eny an-tany?

L' arrogance de ton coeur t' a égaré, toi qui habites au creux du rocher, toi qui fais des hauteurs ta demeure, toi qui dis en ton cœur : "Qui me fera descendre à terre ?"

Though thou exalt thyself as the eagle, and though thou set thy nest among the stars, thence will I bring thee down, saith the Lord.

Na hisondrotra ho avo toy ny voromahery aza hianao, ka hametraka ny akaninao eny amin' ny kintana, dia hampidina anao avy eny aho, - teny marin' ny Tompo.

Quand tu t'élèverais comme l' aigle, quand tu placerais ton nid parmi les étoiles, je t' en précipiterais ! oracle de Yahvé.

If thieves came to thee, if robbers by night, (how art thou cut off!) would they not have stolen till they had enough? if the grapegatherers came to thee, would they not leave some grapes?

Raha, tahìny misy mpangalatra, na jiolahy alina, tonga ao aminao, (Indrisy, fongotra ianao!) Moa tsy izay hahafa-po azy ihany va no hangalariny ? Raha tahìny misy mpioty voaloboka tonga ao aminao, Moa tsy hamela voaloboka sisa hotsimponina va izy?

Raha nisy tafiditra ao aminao, na ny mpangalatra, na ny mpandroba alina - Endrey izany faharavanao! - moa ho tsy izay ampy azy ihany va no nongoahany? Raha misy mpioty voaloboka tonga tao aminao, moa dia tsy ho nasiany sisa hotsimponina va?

Si des voleurs venaient chez toi (ou des pillards de nuit), ne déroberaient-ils pas ce qui leur suffit ? Si des vendangeurs venaient chez toi, ne laisseraient-ils rien à grappiller ? Comme tu as été ravagé !

How are the things of Esau searched out! how are his hidden things sought up!

Comme Ésaü a été fouillé, ses trésors cachés, explorés !

Oba / Ab 1:7

All the men of thy confederacy have brought thee even to the border: the men that were at peace with thee have deceived thee, and prevailed against thee; that they eat thy bread have laid a wound under thee: there is none understanding in him.

Ils t' ont chassé jusqu' aux frontières, ils se sont joué de toi, tous tes alliés ! Ils t' ont dupé, tes bons amis ! Ceux qui mangeaient ton pain tendent des pièges sous tes pas : "Il n' a plus sa raison !"

Shall I not in that day, saith the Lord, even destroy the wise men out of Edom, and understanding out of the mount of Esau?

Moa tsy amin' izany andro izany va, hoy Jehovah, no hamongorako ny olon-kendry ao Edoma, Sy ny manan-tsaina ao an-tendrombohitr' i Esao?

Moa amin' izany andro izany, - teny marin' ny Tompo, tsy hofongorako va ny olon-kendry ao Edoma, sy ny fahazavan-tsaina ao an-tendrombohitr' i Esao?

Est-ce qu' en ce jour-là - oracle de Yahvé - je ne supprimerai pas d'Édom les sages et l' intelligence de la montagne d'Ésaü !

And thy mighty men, O Teman, shall be dismayed, to the end that every one of the mount of Esau may be cut off by slaughter.

Ary ho raiki-tahotra ny lehilahy maherinao, ry Temana, Mba haringana amin' ny vonoana ho foana ny any an-tendrombohitr' i Esao.

Ho raiki-tahotra mafy ny mpiadinao, ry Temàna, mba ho voafongotra rahefa mety ho lehilahy, ao an-tendrombohitr' i Esao.

Témân, tes guerriers seront figés de terreur,

For thy violence against thy brother Jacob shame shall cover thee, and thou shalt be cut off for ever.

Noho ny famonoana, noho ny fahasiahanao amin' i Jakoba rahalahinao, dia ho safo-kenatra sy hofongorana mandrakizay hianao.

pour la violence exercée contre Jacob ton frère, la honte te couvrira et tu disparaîtras à jamais !

In the day that thou stoodest on the other side, in the day that the strangers carried away captive his forces, and foreigners entered into his gates, and cast lots upon Jerusalem, even thou wast as one of them.

Tamin' ny andro nitsangananao nanandrify azy, tamin' ny andro nitondran' ny fahavalo ny miaramilany, sy nitsofohan' ny hafa firenena amin' ny vavahadiny, ka nanaovany loka an' i Jerosalema, dia toy ny iray tamin' ireny koa hianao.

Quand tu te tenais à l'écart, le jour où des étrangers emmenaient ses richesses, où des barbares franchissaient sa porte et jetaient le sort sur Jérusalem, toi tu étais comme l' un d' eux !

But thou shouldest not have looked on the day of thy brother in the day that he became a stranger; neither shouldest thou have rejoiced over the children of Judah in the day of their destruction; neither shouldest thou have spoken proudly in the day of distress.

Aza finaritra mijery ny andron' ny rahalahinao amin' ny andro ahitany loza izay tsy misy toa izany; Ary aza mifaly ny amin' ny taranak' i Joda amin' ny andro andringanana azy; Ary aza manao teny miavonavona amin' ny andro fahoriana

Aza faly mijery ny andron' ny rahalahinao, amin' ny andro idiran-doza aminy; aza mifaly amin' ny momba ny taranak' i Jodà, amin' ny andro andringanana azy; ary aza dia avoavo fiteny amin' ny andron' ny fahoriany.

Ne te délecte pas à la vue de ton frère au jour de son malheur ! Ne fais pas des enfants de Juda le sujet de ta joie au jour de leur ruine ! Ne tiens pas des propos insolents au jour de l' angoisse !

Thou shouldest not have entered into the gate of my people in the day of their calamity; yea, thou shouldest not have looked on their affliction in the day of their calamity, nor have laid hands on their substance in the day of their calamity;

Aza miditra amin' ny vavahadin' ny oloko amin' ny andro ahitany loza; Aza finaritra mijery ny fahantrany amin' ny andro ahitany loza ianao, Ary aza maninji-tàna haka ny fananany amin' ny andro ahitany loza

Aza miditra ny vavahadin' ny vahoakako, amin' ny andro ahitany loza; aza faly mijery ny fahoriany koa hianao, amin' ny andro ahitany loza; ary aza maninji-tànana haka ny fananany, amin' ny andro ahitany loza.

Ne franchis pas la porte de mon peuple au jour de sa détresse ! Ne te délecte pas, toi aussi, de la vue de ses maux au jour de sa détresse ! Ne porte pas la main sur ses richesses au jour de sa détresse !

Neither shouldest thou have stood in the crossway, to cut off those of his that did escape; neither shouldest thou have delivered up those of his that did remain in the day of distress.

Aza mamitsaka eo amin' ny sampanan-dalana hamono izay afa-nandositra ianao; Ary aza manolotra izay sisa aminy amin' ny andro fahoriana.

Aza miandry eo am-pihaonan-dàlana, hamono ny mandositra avy any aminy; aza manolotra ireo afa-nandositra, amin' ny andron' ny fahoriany.

Ne te poste pas aux carrefours pour exterminer ses fuyards ! Ne livre point ses survivants au jour de l' angoisse !

Oba / Ab 1:15

For the day of the Lord is near upon all the heathen: as thou hast done, it shall be done unto thee: thy reward shall return upon thine own head.

Fa efa antomotra amin' ny jentilisa rehetra ny andron' i Jehovah; Toy ny nataonao no mba hatao aminao kosa; Eny, hitsingerina ho eo an-dohanao ny nataonao.

Fa efa akaiky ny andron' ny Tompo amin' ny firenena rehetra; ka toraky ny nataonao no hatao aminao; hitsingerina ho eo an-dohanao, ny asanao.

Car il est proche, le jour de Yahvé, contre tous les peuples ! Comme tu as fait, il te sera fait : tes actes te retomberont sur la tête !

For as ye have drunk upon my holy mountain, so shall all the heathen drink continually, yea, they shall drink, and they shall swallow down, and they shall be as though they had not been.

Fa toy ny nisotroanareo teo an-tendrombohitra masina, Dia toy izany koa no hisotroan' ny firenena rehetra mandrakariva, Eny, hisotro izy ka hitelina, Ary ho toy ny tsy ary izy.

Fa toy ny nisotroanareo teo an-tendrombohitro masina, no hisotroan' ny firenena rehetra tsy an-kijanona koa; hisotro izy, hitelina izy, ary ho toy ny tsy nisy akory izy.

Oui, comme vous avez bu sur ma montagne sainte, tous les peuples boiront sans trêve ; ils boiront et se gorgeront, et ils seront comme s' ils n' avaient jamais été !

Oba / Ab 1:17

But upon mount Zion shall be deliverance, and there shall be holiness; and the house of Jacob shall possess their possessions.

Fa ao an-tendrombohitra Ziona dia hisy izay sisa afaka, Ary ho masina izy; Ary ny taranak' i Jakoba hahalasa ny fananany.

Ao an-tendrombohitra Siona kosa hisy sisa nanamborana; ho fitoerana masina izy; ary hahazo ny fananany indray ny taranak' i Jakoba.

Mais sur le mont Sion il y aura des rescapés - ce sera un lieu saint - et la maison de Jacob rentrera dans ses possessions !

And the house of Jacob shall be a fire, and the house of Joseph a flame, and the house of Esau for stubble, and they shall kindle in them, and devour them; and there shall not be any remaining of the house of Esau; for the Lord hath spoken it.

Ny taranak' i Jakoba ho afo, Ary ny taranak' i Josefa ho lelafo, Fa ny taranak' i Esao kosa ho vodivary, Ary harehitr' ireny izy ka holevoniny; Ary tsy hisy sisa afaka ny taranak' i Esao, Fa Jehovah no efa niteny.

Ny taranak' i Jakoba, ho afo; ny taranak' i Josefa, ho lelafo; ary ny taranak' i Esao kosa, ho bozaka; ka harehitr' ireo izy sy holevoniny, dia tsy hisy miangana ny taranak' i Esao, fa Iaveh no efa niteny.

La maison de Jacob sera du feu, la maison de Joseph, une flamme, la maison d'Ésaü, du chaume ! Elles l' embraseront et la dévoreront, et nul ne survivra de la maison d'Ésaü : Yahvé a parlé !

And they of the south shall possess the mount of Esau; and they of the plain the Philistines: and they shall possess the fields of Ephraim, and the fields of Samaria: and Benjamin shall possess Gilead.

Ny any amin' ny tany atsimo no hahalasa ny tendrombohitr' i Esao;Ary ny any amin' ny tany lemaka amoron-tsiraka no hahalasa ny Filistina; Hahalasa ny tanin' ny Efraima sy ny tany Samaria izy; Ary Benjamina hahalasa an' i Gileada.

Ny tendrombohitr' i Esao, ho lasan-dry zareo any Negeba, ary ny tanin' ny Filistina ho an-dry zareo amin' ny Sefelah; hanana ny faritanin' i Efraima izy ireo, mbamin' ny faritanin' i Samaria; ary ny any Benjamina hahalasa an' i Galaada.

Ceux du Négeb posséderont la montagne d'Ésaü, ceux du Bas-Pays, la terre des Philistins, ils posséderont le territoire d'Éphraïm et le territoire de Samarie, et Benjamin possédera Galaad.

And the captivity of this host of the children of Israel shall possess that of the Canaanites, even unto Zarephath; and the captivity of Jerusalem, which is in Sepharad, shall possess the cities of the south.

Les exilés de cette armée, les enfants d' Israël, posséderont la terre des Cananéens jusqu'à Sarepta, et les exilés de Jérusalem qui sont à Sepharad posséderont les villes du Négeb.

And saviours shall come up on mount Zion to judge the mount of Esau; and the kingdom shall be the Lord' s.

Ary hisy mpamonjy miakatra ho ao an-tendrombohitra Ziona Hitsara ny tendrombohitr' i Esao; Ary ho an' i Jehovah Jon 1:1

Ka hisy mpamonjy hiakatra ao an-tendrombohitra Siona hitsara ny tendrombohitr' i Esao; ary ho an' ny Tompo ny fanjakana.

Ils graviront, victorieux, la montagne de Sion pour juger la montagne d'Ésaü, et à Yahvé sera l' empire !
