Igname dont le tubercule hypogé et les bulbilles aériennes sont toxiques à l'état frais.
Nom relevé anciennement par Boivin (1849) réf. Boivin 2013, note manuscrite inédite : « comestible après macération dans l'eau ».
Il s'agit de
Dioscorea sansibarensis Pax. ; un échantillon Boivin 2013 bis, de la même espèce porte : « grosse racine amère et dit-on vénéneuse ».
